That's because they make us play.

<<And this is why I love Hackmaster.
The company is so involved it makes it contagious. >>

Yeah but that's because we're forced to be involved at gun point.
Nobody can go home until they've posted 25 messages.

(kidding of course)

Me Stoopid

Hey, I went to the Kenzer webpage and there is one thing I want to clarify about Hackmaster.

Is it closer to AD&D 2nd edition or d20? I love KotDT, but I don't think I could go back to 2nd Ed.

What? Me Worry?
It's closest to 1e. It's not really anything like d20. It takes the best of 1e and 2e (there were some good bits), and adds in some new stuff. The PHB, GMG, and Hacklopedias are great reads. But, in the end, it's most like 1e, especially 1e after Unearthed Arcana - in a good way.

Hackmaster is a wonderful system. If the devil is in the details, then Hackmaster is an entire pantheon of formless gibbering evil critters.

That said, I am planning to convert all the old 1e modules like the GDQ and Temple of Elemental Evil into a megacampaign set for Hackmaster.

It should be wrong. Heheh.

Review of Quest for the Unknown

If anyone is interested, I have a review of Quest for the Unknown in the latest issue of Pyramid Online. Of course, you will need to be a subscriber to check it out. Aside from a few small editing mistakes, I hope you enjoy it.
