Honestly the only reason I didn't vote bard was because it was an elven bard

Went for Elf to get the Perception proficiency(spot traps), this build was a lightbulb moment for me when i was looking at making a rogue and remembered a bard gets to choose any 3 proficiencies (my mind often reverts to 2E builds anyways in which the bard is pretty much a rogue). So then i just needed to get the thieve's tools proficiency. Originally, I looked at Urchin background for the tools, but didnt like the feel of it for this group. and remembered the Spy variant of criminal. So, need DM approval for that bit. Otherwise, I feel the background works as long as the DM is good with elvish spy networks from cormanthor.


I am definately using this build in the future!

Thank you, though I'm not into military stories(or books not in fantasy settings for that matter)
