Lookspring moves forward to examine the ground and see what sort of people have been tending this garden. He searches the ground for tracks before looking over the garden to see what has been growing there.

As the group enters the clearing the sailors fan out to take up watch as lookspring begins to search the area for footprints. Phoenix follows Lookspring around to keep alert as he searches. After only a few moments Looksprings eyes bulge as he understands what he sees---[sblock=Lookspring]footprints of skeletons and half rotted human feet as well as those of smaller races, all obviously not living.[/sblock]

Keeping her eyes on the surrounding area, Phoenix looks away for a moment to peer down the well and see if she notices anything. "Holy disappearances rat-man, it's too quiet." Phoenix mutters to Lookspring.

[sblock= Phoenix] As she looks down the well it occurs to her that this place is too quiet and peaceful for wilderness; there is no sounds of animals rustling about. The well seems to be fairly deep, made of wood and empty.[/sblock]

Lookspring hisses and springs backwards when he realizes what he has tracked. He signals the others frantically to gather in close. As quietly as he can he whispers to the others, "No living creature walks these paths, only the restless dead. Some human, some not." He starts at the sound of a distant bird cry. After a tense moment he relaxes and continues. "We must move swiftly, as silent as shadows. If you fall behind you join the dead ones. What say you, Phoenix, stay on the path or follow it parallel in the jungle?"

"Tough choice. But I'd rather face fighting something on the path than losing our way by losing the path. Let us follow it for now." Phoenix says with a look of concern.

As you continue on the sailors look about nervously and do not speak. After walking about 200 yards the forrest comes alive again and you can hear many small animals rustling about. Just before sundown you see a gathering of huts just ahead and suddenly you are aware of stone spear points surrounding you. What you guess would be the village warriors. The one directly in front of you along the path approaches and speaks crude common. What you, why here.

Lookspring nudges Phoenix and whispers "They're your kind, you speak to them...

Phoenix grumbles something unidentifiable towards Lookspring before turning with a smile towards the spear wielding village warriors and speaking "My name is Phoenix. We are travelers. We come to trade with you. We come in peace. We wish to speak with your village elder if possible."
