What do you mean by sniping? Attack once then hide check? or something? Other than that my main melee weapon i figure would be a short sword of subelty, that give me a +4 to attack while sneaking...think that would make a nice addition if i have to wade into melee.

Any enchaments for bow that you guys think would be usefull?
Sniping is in the Hide Skill...

Sniping: If you’ve already successfully hidden at least 10 feet from your target, you can make one ranged attack, then immediately hide again. You take a –20 penalty on your Hide check to conceal yourself after the shot.
And the Sword of Subtlety give you +4 to attack and damage when making a sneak attack, not when sneaking. It helps when flanking also.

Good special abilities for SA bow users:
Seeking
Holy
etc.

If you can house-rule in a ghost touch bow or arrow enhancement (by the RAW, that weapon property applies to melee weapons only) then blink + sneak attack is the bomb. Not only is the ring of blinking cheap by the time you need it, but blinking confers vast benefits beyond the ability to SA, and is awfully hard to defeat. Even the 20% miss chance is worth it, IMHO; one arrow out of every five (assuming you're using Rapid Shot) is not a big loss compared to the extra SA damage you do, and is probably fully or over-compensated for in many cases by the fact that the target loses its Dex bonus.

Building an Archer too...

Nice Discussion guys!

I'm going to play in FR, going to build a HalfElv / Tiefling - Rogue Archer like this:

Rogue 1 / Fighter 1 / Wizard 1 / Fighter 2 / Rogue 2-6 / Arcane Archer 1-10

He will have a real lor BaB in his first levels, but a lot of Skillpoints (Tiefling INT-Bonus) and a good to Hit later (from the fighter and Arcane Archer Levels and tiefling DEX bonus)...

Comments? Recommenadtions?

I favoure the Skill Points and the "cannot be flanked" of Rogue over the Weapon Specialisation and one bonus feat at Fighter Level 4...

What about Improved Feint? IIRC, you don't have to Feint in melee combat (at least not in 3.0). So you could Move-Equiv "Feint" your opponent, then Sneak Attack them with your Standard.

How are you getting away with this... exactly?

Tiefling is a race all on its own. So is Halfelf. Are you using some wierd gestalt paragon race houserules? Or did you really mean to say... half-fiend halfelf?

Well, i will not have all the half-elv boni like Nightvision and the Skill Boni. My favourite calss will be Rogue (like the Tiefling ones). But i will have Elven Blood. Background story is that of an Tiefling producing offspring with an elf not a human... So i'm a tiefling with Elven blood, not an elvish half-fiend... (which would have more Boni and be ECL+3, right?)

Arcane Trickster? This will only be good if i go up a lot of levels in wizard! I have to be able to cast arcane Spells Lv3...
I wanted to build a good, sneaky Archer that knows to hit where it hurts and strike out of the shadows.

I was thinking about a Level in Shadowdancer for "hide on plain sight" ability, but the feats i need (Dodge, Mobility, Combat Reflexes) contradict the ranged fighting Feats i wanted to pick... and i will loose another point of BAB and a fighters feat... Is there any other way to gain "hide on plain sight"?

I guess... maybe. All the Tiefling stuff, and elven blood? Maybe remove the once per day casting of Darkness...

You might also wish to consider the Order of the Bow Initiate, and Rogue... lots of extra damage dice if you get all your ducks lined up. YMMV

Get freindly with the Improved Invisibility casting Wizard...

I'm going to Max-Out Thumble / Move Silently / Hide...
Ring of Blinking sounds like a very good idea (i read it above)...

Someone on Wizards.com mentioned tiefling-elv are called "fey'ri" and mentioned in Monsters of Faerûn and in Races of Faerûn. Has anyone got those books at hand and could take a look if you can play them as a character?

You are right about the Fey'ri... forgot about them.

Anyway, they are a +2 level adjustment race, +3 if you also want damage reduction, or dim. door, or enervation spell-like abilities.
