Clear: If you have nothing urgent to do, you could just hurry and catch up with Mal, Kaiambus and Yulanesca. After a 5 weeks travel, we should all be polite acquaintances and we're obviously all going to a hotel (I ain't carrying this backpack forever!).

This goes for Vargo and Kelvin too, altough they both seem to have a very clear first destination in mind. Still, I think you should go for an hotel first or as soon as possible (hopefully the same as us through sheer coincidence...).

I mean, Mal is also in Seilen for a purpose: He's looking for his sister. Yet you won't see him trek through the city looking for her while carrying all his travel gears and without a hotel room to go back to when it gets dark!

I believe we should stay together as much as possible, whether through design or ''coincidence'' until the DM springs on us the inevitable event(s) that will turn us into a real party.

Well, that was a real trip for biscuits.
I'll second Mal/Game Control's comments. Although, if Rhialto has some kind of master plan to deal with a split party and getting us into a single unit, that's cool, too.

On another note, I was going to start indexing some of the information from the other thread here — people, places, things, that sort of thing. We are getting an incredible amount of information from Eveiret and the other Dragomen, and it might be good to start to annotate it. I'm almost certain that my character has a better memory for these names that I do :p. I'll be starting that in my next post and as names get added, I'll edit them in.

I'm still there. We might have to e-mail the others to tell them the game is on. I know that since the adress is still ''test.cyberstreet.com'' I almost didn't check the IC forum...

Just checking in. I'm still about, and I'll continue my index sometime in the morning or afternoon...

It's a little late for this lion to be playing librarian. :)

Vherzazi; Huh? How tough? What are they known for?

Trolls: In the city? How common is that? Is it unique to Seilen or Should I be used to it by now?

Is it legal for them to be taking away this man?

Guys; I'd rather not charge two trolls, you know. Especially without a lot of alchemical fire. Mal's natural impulse is to shrug off the incident and move on the Gilded Gargoyle. If you all go crusader on Mal, he'll not let you down however. Especially not Yulanesca; he's commited to escorting her.

If push come to shove, I think we could free the man. The plan I have in mind would involve mostly the following step:

  • I pepper the trolls with arrows until they (and hopefully a few dogmen) charge me.
  • You ''hide'' in the crowd. Basically you stay put and act like you don't know me.
  • When the trolls are near me, I scream like a little girl and run away as fast as I can (with my boots of striding and jumping).
  • The rest of the PCs swoop in, dispatch the remaining Verzhazi and free the man. Then they scream like little girls and run away before the trolls come back.

It's still very risky and frankly, I'd recommend any goody two shoes to ease their conscience by reconforting the wife instead. Metagaming wise, I don't think the DM expects us to fight 2 trolls + troops given our current situation (party scattered, unprepared for trolls).

I Especially recommend to let them go if it turns out that it's perfectly legal for those Dogmen to take that man away. Otherwise we'd be outlaws 10 minutes after getting in the city! I know that I'm Chaotic Neutral, but that would still be something of an exploit.

Yeah, speaking of tactics; it would help if had a Rogue Gallery thread. Especially one were the spell casters state their prepared (or known) spell for the day.

I'm pretty certain it is legal for them to take the man away, and I don't think it's a good idea for yourself, myself, and Yunalesca to take on that many opponents without some more firepower (we're shy, what, an evoker, a rogue, and a cleric — hopefully they'll catch up with us soon). Anyhow, I also have pretty solid IC reasons for not wanting to tackle those troops and trolls.

As far as talking to the wife and finding out what's going on, I'm all for that. My character should be able to figure out what's going on on both ends if that's what we want to do. Maybe we can even negotiate the release of the man. Kaiambus does have enough gold that we might be able to do something...

I say we let off on attacking the dogmen/troll ensemble, and talk to the wife and find out what's going on.

Best,
