-Another feat I really like, even though the errata kinda made it slightly weaker (not that I'm complaining about everyone now being proficient in unarmed strikes, mind). This and Dual Wielder has made my dream of beating hordes of the soon to be departed with those that fell before them mechanically viable, and for that it gets my official seal of approval.

Before Grappler's inevitable demise, let's ruminate. Sad thing is, it would been easy to make Grappler not suck.

You know, instead of removing the third bullet point altogether, the errata team could've revised it to allow you to grapple two sizes bigger (but maybe at disadvantage). And then making pin not suck would've been easy, too (make it take one weapon attack instead of a whole action, restrain just the target and not you).

But alas ...

But alas ...

or make it have a bonus die of 1d4 in attempts, that rise up to d6 and d8 on higher levels. Heck, make it so that you get expertise onto athletics skill.

But alas ...

It would have never happened in a million years, but it would have been cool to have a special melee attack you could do to grappled targets, or a defensive ability that let you (perhaps on successful check) force a grappled person to become the target of one attack against you.

Still trying to kill weapon master, but on the flip side, magic initiate is interesting and opens up a lot of possibilities.
