It's also interesting that this is directed by Michael Giacchino, who has made his name as a film composer (The Incredibles, Up, the Kelvin timeline Star Trek films, Doctor Strange, the Tom Holland Spider-Man films, Mission Impossible III, and Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol, to name just a few). Of course, he scored this special as well.

Yeah, that always made me snigger too but according to writer Gerry Conway the association was entirely unintentional.
Jack was born as Jacob Russoff in Transylvania but his mother took him to America and remarried a man named Paul Russell, young Jack adopted his step-fathers name.
