I have no idea. I've theorized way back when the whole Snarl was introduced that it was connected to it somehow. Still, I suspect that it's something cute and fluffy or something given it's cloying personality, and it fits with Xykon's warped humor. I stopped taking it seriously for a long while until it cause that massive earthquake with its foot stomp.
I suspect that Rich might not know what it is and uses it as a joke. Or maye he does know, which has even more sinister connotations.
