[April] What Are You Reading?

Just finished The Forgery of Venus, by Michael Gruber. I read The Book of Air and Shadow a year or two ago, and remembered liking it enough to grab two more by him, but I _really_ liked this book. It was just...fun. Good and fun.

I've got Tropic of Night on the shelf, but my wife just finished Catching Fire and I kind of want to read that too, so we can watch the movie. (she's demanding the 3rd book now, so gotta find that tomorrow.)

I started reading Jo Walton's "Among Others". It's not really what I expected, but it's still too early to tell if I like it or not.

Still reading "A Memory of Light". It's okay, albeit hampered by having too much story to tell - no more chances to just put off dealing with "subplot X" until the next book.

Still working on Palahniuk's Doomed. I like it and it looks like there will be a 3rd book in the series - at least halfway through. Lots of setup, lots of backstory so I assume there will be more. I don't see enough pages left to resolve this in this book.

Catching Fire was really good; going to start Tropic of Night today or tomorrow. I bought the Conan: Free Companies Dark Horse Comics collection yesterday, so I've got that to read too. (I bought Mockingjay as well, but the wife has first dibs.)

Just read The Hammer and the Blade by Paul Kemp. So much fun.....I will be buying the next one for sure. I think it is only five bucks for the ebook. Go buy it.

So great to hear. Two more coming after A DISCOURSE IN STEEL, too.

Meanwhile, I'm working my way through one anthology (THE WEIRD, edited by The Vandermeers) and one collection (THE RETURN OF THE SORCERER, by Clark Ashton Smith). Both are excellent and highly recommended.
