No, it doesn't say you can't put it in the bank. If it did, no one would use KS. You are allowed to make a profit. Profits go in the bank.

It literally says that all funds need to go fully into producing the project in question: sure, that can include a salary for your own time, which is why people need to convince pledgers they are going to use the resources wisely, rather than pocket the money and run.

Nothing in the Kickstarter pledge is "profit," it is all contractually obligated to be used in producing something. Profit comes later.

As of this moment, they have raised $10,285,550. They are now the 5th highest-funded Kickstarter in history, with less than 39 hours remaining.

They will have no problem spending all the money on this project. Simply hiring bigger-name actors for the voices will eat through any "excess" budget. They can put more into complex animation for battle scenes. Have extra content. There is a lot this money can be spent on, for THIS project, to make it better. They have indicated that this is exactly what they will do.

Popular animated series can cost in excess of $2 million per episode.

They will have no problem spending the 10 million to make this series.

Then EVERY single KS project in the history of KS is in violation of the terms of service since every KS project has allocated profit that it kept for the creator. I think you are misreading the FAQ which is about charity incorrectly.

The FAQ says very little about the actual use of funds except this:
KS FAQ said:
While nonprofits are welcome to launch projects on Kickstarter, projects can't promise to raise funds to donate to a charity or cause. Funds raised on Kickstarter must go towards facilitating the project outlined by the creator on the project page.

Profit is part of "facilitating the project" because as the first sentence says "nonprofits are welcome" but it wouldn't be phrased that way if nonprofits were the default. For-profit endeavors are the default and profit is a valid use of KS funds.

Also, please explain how profit comes later in the typical project where some prints a book and only prints enough to fulfill the pledges.

88,882 backers pledged $11,385,034 to help bring this project to life.

EDIT: Apparently, there can be updates after the end:

88,885 backers pledged $11,385,129 to help bring this project to life.

Way back on Day One I said:

Okay... 1 million in an hour. The next million came two hours later. The third million five hours later. Forth million roughly 12 hours later, or 20 hours into the campaign. At the current rate of doubling, they'll hit 5 million tomorrow morning and 6 million early Saturday. That would be in the ballpark of 9.5 million by April 19th when the project closes. Assuming there's no surge of additional backers following Talks Machina (Tonight) or the Critical Role live stream (Thursday). I'm personally guessing those will each give a small boost, so the project will end at around 10.5 to 11 million.

I was wrong about the surge following the shows, but I was really close with the final guess.
