I didn't see any tiefling proposed for swordmages. That'd be interesting... +int + the feat to basic attack with intelligence and the fire-based tiefling feat.....uhmmmm
(some charisma is good for spell focus...)

I've been lurking for about a week and was about 70% done with an elf 2 blade ranger when I realized that the concept seemed played out and I wasn't terribly excited :)
Despite the drizzit related teasing it's a perfectly good character to play.

But do come back with another idea that you're more excited about, or if you're looking for feedback come back to us!

Well thank you all for your greetings! I like what I've read so far, and decided to create a gnome, probably a mage.

But I found no region where gnomes are common. I read they come from a forest, but I don't know where is that forest.

Currently gnomes seem to appear on Kythira. There isn't a whole lot of information around about it, and it isn't written up as a region yet. But that would be the nearest source for a gnome.

You're also allowed to invent your own point of origin, further afield if you like.
Hafrog has the right of it. I see gnomes and shifters as having been indigenous to the isles (at least Daunton and Kythira) in small numbers. A few bands shifted (heh) to the interior of Daunton, but gnomes are more numerous on Kythira.

Of course you could also be a gnome from Daunton. There are almost certainly gnomish families stretching back to the founding of the city by settlers of Allaria.

I don't know if its a factor, I doubt it really, but according to the races section Transitive Isles Dwarves do not seem to fit the standard archytype too well.
I hoped that Mykonos' Sanctuary was a pretty good effort... sigh

(Though reading over it I suppose there isn't actually much written down in that spot it kinda got cut in two two different segments)

Dwarves said:
Few dwarves choose to flee the destruction of Allaria to Daunton (at that time called New Daunton); but those that did settled on Mykronos' Sanctuary living simple lives at the base of the monastery. They remember the Kingdom with much greater clarity than the shorter lived races. The destruction of Allaria is not something that happened in the distant past, but something their grandfathers and grandmothers experienced.
The destructive forces unleashed by the Brotherhood of the Bright Eon drove them from the island to Daunton over a year ago; having fled their homes a second time in the face of evil many younger dwarves are rejecting the simple lives lived by their parents to become more active.
Some of this younger generation feel particular hostility toward the Imperium outpost set up on the isle of their birth others direct their ire against the Dauntonians who ignored their plight.
Others are striving to overcome, or even learn, from their travails.

These simple folk tended their fields and worked in the small iron mines that dot the island. Then the Brotherhood of the Bright Eon turned their home into a hell. A handful of them escaped to Daunton to warn the surrounding isles, others were only freed by the Five when they returned. Initially resettled in hovels in Daunton most have returned to Mykonos' Sanctuary now that the Imperium has developed it into a base of its own.
Their strong simple culture where doors were left open and neighbors knew each other for generations has not been wiped away, but they've been abruptly shoved in a vastly more hostile world. A number of youngsters have decided to take up arms either to protect their families or avenge themselves upon the evils that beset them

Do we want to change it?

I don't think we need to change the entry its just that the Dwarves as described in the races entry seem far more , err, monkish than I am used to. In contrast to what I envision as the typical fantasy dwarf who is greedy, proud, and from gold from a kingdom of vast riches where crafting is elaborate and masterful, etc.

While I think its interesting I also fear it might be a little inaccesible - does that make sense? Its almost easier to start off with a race you have a concept of and then differentiate your charcter from there.

I wouldn't worry about it for now, but if we continue to get no Dwarves we might thinka bout adding a more traditional setting for them - several have been mentioned as being in development I believe.

Don't see anything wrong with Mykonos dwarves, I'd say that rather than change they just need to be further developed.

I've been brewing up a pretty fleshed out dwarven region for some time now that hopefully will provide for a fairly traditional feel (with some twists), so that could become an additional choice for background.

Your healing is coming up as soon as I can get Kama'zer within 5 squares of wherever Ts'iri has run ahead to. ;)

It was gonna be a tough choice last round between healing Riar'lon and Ts'iri, but then she went and added 14 temp HP's and so I threw it to Riar'lon first. She has done a great job as a defender so far. Just goes to show how tough us Githyanki are! :p
