Quori behind savage tide/Mourning - cool ideas wanted

The plot so far: the Mourning was a savage tide caused by a rogue faction of Quori that want to accelerate the conquest of Eberron by wiping out most of Khorvaire's population.

The PCs are on the Isle of Dread, preparing for the pirate invasion at the end of Tides of Dread. They know nothing about the plot above, but they're about to get some pieces because the Crimson Fleet are actually privateers from Dar Qat, led by Inspired of the aforementioned apocalyptic Quori faction.

I'll be ending the adventure path after the invasion, which leaves me with a need for plot hooks to distribute between now and then. I'd love to hear any cool ideas you've got!

One thing I'd like to pull together is having the PCs fight alongside other factions of Inspired against the rogue ones. I've never managed to do the three-way 'enemy of my enemy' thing before, so any advice will be appreciated!

I don't have anything to add in terms of answering your question... but wanted to say thanks for posting because you have just given me some ideas for a planned Forgotten Realms campaign!

(In short, I'm going to use the Savage Tide to explain why the ogres of Thar suddenly devolved into savagery but have Baphomet behind it rather than Demogorgon. It will also tie into the aboleth and the Far Realm.)

Drop the Eladrin and Orcus in favour of Kalashtar and "moderate" Inspired. That should give some tension between the allies. It's something I was thinking about when I planned my version, although there were significant differences. My Crimson Fleet were Sarlonan renegades, determined to restore the land to what it was before the Quori came and willing to accept help from a cult of the Dragon Below without examining too closely what it meant doing - which seems quite close to how they seemed in the AP. Otherwise your scenario is very close to mine.

Bluenose, those are some great ideas. I'd forgotten about the Cults of the Dragon Below, but it meshes very nicely with the idea that I'd had to make daelkyr aberrations the source of shadow pearls. My renegade quori are exploiting the creatures to their own ends.

I also really like the Eladrin/Orcus switch - it means I can mine more stuff from the adventure path. Along the same lines, I'm replacing Malcanthet with the dragons of Argonessen.

Btw a faction of moderate Inspired already exists. The lady Saradhuna, leader of the Thousand Eyes of Riedra is a major proponent of leaving Khorvaire be and realigning Dal'Quor just by the monoliths of Riedra.

Well, if it is in the Mournlands, then you gotta have warforged.

Of course the Lord of Blades apparently wants to wipe out humanity as well. However, somewhere along the line he figures out he was tricked, or perhaps learns about a Quori secret and suddenly needs agents to use against them, (which is where captured PC's come in, or they are rescued by the other Inspired).

Hmm, I hadn't thought about warforged. I've already established that warforged were created by Quori of the last age to serve as vessels when fighting giants. Come to think of it, it might be fun to have the Lord of Blades as a Quori vessel of the renegade faction. It's extra fun because the party has a warforged artificer called #9 who was the ninth WF made. #9 doesn't know yet, but the LoB is his big brother #8.
