Rediscovery of the World - 4e (OOC)

I'm fine with the setting, and I will find a reason for Isdar to dive into whatever hooks you give us. If you're looking for hook suggestions, however, I have always pictured Isdar as a D&D version of Indiana Jones, so artifact recovery is a great direction for me. Obviously, I'm not expecting everything to go that direction, as I'm only one of the players. It's just a suggestion/answer to your questions.

I would like to make another character if that's ok with you. I had in mind a ranger with the monk variant. As for the story, I like driven stories a lot, an excessive freedom in a game may produce some uncomfortable silences from the players.

Ok red I'll keep that in mind.
Voda, note taken. By the way, can you link me the monk variant? I think I lost it...

BTW, since it looks at least half of the group wants to change characters, so I think we'll re-start from second lvl. Please, write up your new characters or update your old ones, and let me know if you use something from AV, MP, or Dragon.

This time I'll forget about introductory adventures and put you right into your plot hooks if you give them to me. (artifact hunt is alright Red. Would Isdar be also interested in, say, ancient historical recounts, or similar? It's a world where history is forgotten after all)

Also, please "vote" which starting situation you'd like the best:

A)Right into action
B)RP introduction

1)A short dungeon delve
2)You're on the run
3)Infiltration in a fort, or castle, or mansion
4)In the wild

EDIT: By the way, sice we're restarting, forget about the core gods for now. If you want to give your character a god or religious background, do so with the max freedom, any fluff you like.
But in the present world, religion has no real lnk to actual gods. They seem to have disappeared, and though an uncountable number of cults and "gods" exist in Barnost, none of them is "true". Naturally, one who has "faith" will deny this, but there's a greater number of "agnostics" and "atheist" than in a normal D&D setting. There are also the "abandoned", of course.
This was something I wanted to do with the original game, but since I have the chance to redraw the plot, I guess I'll change the angle...

Historic documents would be wonderful. Anything that brings knowledge of the past is really his thing. :D

I would vote for A1 or A3, myself. As much as I love RP opportunities in RL, I've found that that's where most pbp games tend to bog down.

Red and gary have expressed their preference. I do have a short (5-6 encounters) dungeon delve ready. I'd be ready to start the first encounter even now, map and all.

So:do Voda and WD agree, or would they prefer something else?
Furthermore, is 2nd lvl ok?

If everything's alright, we can (re)start as soon as I have the new/updated characters.
Remember:all sources are all right, but leave a note if you use something from AV,MP, or Dragon (especially since I'm not a subscriber at the moment so...)

P.s.:By the way... I still suck at Maptool, but I guess the result is better than the old Escel maps...

As he said :)

2nd level is fine.
What about items? One lev 1, one 2 and one 3? And money as a 1 level item?

I will still take my background and will update 'Dak Malek' to 2nd level.

BTW: I still use excel for my games. Are it really looks that awful?

Well, I admit it's a pretty map. But, Maptool has other pros, it's easier to manage after you've created a map (like, you click on a token and simply move it) it has some nice boons, like fog of war, which I think i will use quite often...

Regardless, I'm starting to get how to to use it, now I need a decent textures gallery. In the meanwhile, I'll be satisfied if the maps are clear (tell me if they aren't).

To answer your questions: yes, 2,nd lvl, 25 point buy, standard items and wealth. Though, be warned that I might ban something I regard as overpowered, though that isn't likely to happen at these low lvls...
I want to try and address more readily your plot hooks this time, so the more (and more usable) they are, the best it is.
On the other hand, if you prefer, like Voda, a more driven game, well, there are two or three underlying plots, so hopefully I'll try to suit everyone's tastes. As usual, tell me what you like and what you don't.

For ease of reference, I will remind some of the houserules (and probably some I haven't mentioned...)
-Erratas are in effect.
-Exception to the above: Stealth is usable to hide with light cover, albeit at a -2 penalty.
-No resurrection, save if plot-driven.
-magic items are "upgradable" as per AV variant
-If you want to homebrew or customize, tell me about your ideas (voda had done that already)
-Balance issues not taken care of at the moment will be dealt with on if necessary (i'm looking at you, marked scourge)
