Polls here are just another device to gauge public opinion (in my opinion. ) Just like reading through three dozen pages of posts about dragonborn boobs or Golden Wyvren Adepts can give you a general feel for the upsides and downsides of a particular topic.

Polls just allow you to do it faster. Voting in an ENWorld poll is like saying "QFT" without quoting a giant block of someone else's post.

All of this to say, I use them a lot. I vote in them, and I create them, if only to generate discussion. It's good fun.

So what have you learned?

I don't want to go into details, primarily because I can't say for sure how things might play out in design.

However, there are at least two ideas on my plate that are the direct result of browsing through forums and checking out what people have to say about the game.

I'll tell you what. If you guys at WotC were to publish a 4e supplement that reintroduces a lot of the previous core mythology, gives rules support for 'simulationist' style play, makes sandbox type campaigns much easier and in general adds a bit more flumph I'd buy it and give D&D 4e another shot. How about it?

One of those ideas being to invent a time machine, go back to late 2007, and tell yourself to get Half-Orcs included in the PHB1, right?

Although if I'm typing this, I suppose that didn't happen.

The C4bal's motives and methods are becoming common knowledge it would seem.

There were no appealing poll options. I think there was probably a cleaner way to deliver the message than this poll.

(1) I don't think there was a message. This is a joke, and I'm consistently amazed at the percentage of ENWorld regulars who don't recognize jokes when they see them.

(2) Do you honestly believe that there's a secret conspiracy of 4e fans who have some kind of secret handshake and a detailed manifesto?
