Since I was the first to respond to this, let me just say I never believed this to be true, just felt that it was in poor taste, especially with no humor tag, because there are people who might actually believe this and start another 20 page edition war thread on us. But truth be told, what your mother pulled on you was far worse.

It's not a question of labeling it a prank while it still is one. It's a question of changing the name NOW that April 1 is over so forestall anyone misinterpreting the name of the thread.

I'm just wondering if most of the people who were upset by this are 4e players afraid of Paizo trolls coming here in another forum invasion. I assumed that was the root of the edition wars last year. That being said, I'm a 4e player and was not trying to start an edition war. I support Wizards and think they've done a great job with D&D (although Magic is another story).

Anyway, thanks to the mods for renaming the post. If I could have, I would have just deleted it after April 1st.

By the way, did you hear that WotC has just issued a press release for D&D 4.5 . . . Press Releases

I just saw it as a fairly clumsy attempt at bashing Wizards.

This following WotC's fun and good-natured April Fool's Day offerings compounded my irritation.

I may not be the biggest fan of WoTC, but to me it was clear that this was one of their traditional jokes -- one that apparently the folks at Paizo took part in (or at least knew about). I can't understand how anyone could take *anything* they post on April 1st seriously...

I good April Fools joke is one that is ideally funny for all involved after the joke has been revealed. People laugh and go "Hah hah, I totally thought something was up!" even if they didn't, and a good time is had by all.

This joke did not succeed at this.
