First New Monster Minis Previewd

The first new monster minis are previewed on the WotC site.

I like all but one of them. I think the cyclops that WotC has been producing are excellent. The orcs look infinitely better than the last few, but its hard to tell if they are up to some of the excellent early orcs.

I can't tell much about the arbalaster, and the gnoll looks not so nice.

Most of the figures look better than the supposedly Rare-quality PHB minis (at least from the pictures). I'll probably buy some of these to add to my collection of Orcs, Goblins, etc.

Not too keen on the looks of the Huntmaster (what's with the aerobics tights?) and the Eye of Gruumsh (the MM lists it with a spear, why is the mini wielding sword and shield?).

Not really. But thanks for your contribution to the thread.

Agree with Klaus on the orc - there is good art, why they change it sometimes confuses me. There are times when they need to make changes due to production issues, but not between a spear and a sword.

My comments on DDMSpoilers:

Cyclops: an uncommon better than a demonweb's rare. Thumbs up.

Orcs: not as good as War Drum's but nice. Good colors.

Gnoll: too cartoonish and doesn't look like a hyena. DDM has a lot of gnolls and just a few look like it. Please use a different color pallete...

Alabaster: seems well made, but it's not the kind of thing I use it on my games. Will buy a single, tho.

Huh. I might just be interested again in the monster minis. I was disappointed with the Heroes. Rares my foot. But I might be interested in a case of the monsters, I'll have to see more previews before I decide.

Meh. The cyclops is pretty good, the orcs are average, and the gnoll is terrible.

Cyclops is great. I already have a ton of orcs but would grab a few more. The gnoll is so-so, not great. The arbalester i can find a use for somewhere. These are much more interesting than the player models as far as i'm concerned. I guess splitting them up was a pretty good idea.
