Pathfinder 1E Sinister Pathfinder

By the way: New previews up!

On Sinister's Sneak Peek's Blog: Check out the Wave Riders. Fallen Adventurers to be replaced or redeemed by your PCs in Razor Coast

Very cool Nick. It is great to have NPC's like this who can swing one way or the other depending on the PC actions. I already added Jalamar, though when he was a worshiper of Quell; this way his possible future arm devouring ways will be all the more shocking.

Oh, that's a very cool choice, well done - I love that they will meet him as a mild mannered Quell priest, and then meet him again as crazed wereshark dalang of Dajobas. That will make for a cool revelation!

So Nick,

I'm still trying to figure out the "Sinister" part. What will be the "Sinister" aspect of the Pathfinder stuff you'll put out?

a) The PC's are heroes in a hopefulessly evil/corrupt setting?
b) The PC's are expected to be amoral in a setting?
c) The PC's are in a brutal world--expect uber challenging encounters (similar to Rappan Athuk from Necromancer Games)
d) The PC's are playing in a "Ravenloftishnessly" setting with some Chuthulery and Warhammering mixed in for good measure.
e) Something else so horrible to discuss that good sense dictates otherwise.
f) All of the above.
g) None of the above.

Great question!

The most important aspect of Sinister is that the adventures are for adults. It doesn't mean there is tentacle rape every scene or anything like that - but it means if they were movies they'd be more likely R-rated rather than the usual PG-13.

They are very dark in tone, more than a little horrific, and perhaps even more importantly - insidious. These adventures aren't "you are done with that encounter now on to the next" - they involve the PCs in twisted and terrifying plots in which they can make all manner of interesting choices and explore/progress as they see fit. The bad guys are also doing their own thing throughout the adventures and reacting to PCs' choices and exploits.

Hope that helps define the "Sinister" a bit! Hit me back with more questions if you like!

AND: More Previews for Razor Coastare up on the blog today: The Prodigal Son and The Broken Skull

The "Buy Now and Save $10 off the final price offer still stands" and you can choose which version of the book you want in print when the book is ready to ship - Pathfinder Compatible or OGL 3.5 (maybe True 20 as well).

Okay, I'm very interested in once you get them out as pdfs. I occasionally like a dark adventure that will make the players go "It just did WHAAAAT?!?"

Awesome! If that's what you are looking for, Sinister will not disappoint you. You may also want to have a look at a few of the darker adventures I've tackled for Paizo too (if you haven't already).

Hangman's Noose
Carnival of Tears (co-written with the very twisted Tim Hitchcock)
Hook Mountain Massacre (part of the Rise of the Runelords AP).

I dig on dark.

I can give two thumbs up on Carnival of Tears. It's the best adventure that I've not been able to run yet!

But I have plans, yes...yes, I have plans...
