wizards forums are up

As for the info not saving, do you use Firefox by chance? I've seen a lot of reports over there of the new software not working too well with Firefox. I don't use Firefox, but haven't had any problems with Opera, Chrome, or IE 6.

I've now tried with Chrome and that doesn't work either. I can save my privacy preferences but my actual profile stubbornly refuses to save. There is no error message or anything, everything seems normal as I enter the data it wants, then it asks for my username and password to save the changes, but the red X that indicates that I haven't entered the profile information does not disappear, and if I click on it again everything is blank.

It would be cool if, like facebook, they opened it up to people building stuff for it. Like so it could integrate with other things like twitter and facebook.

And an iPhone app! I burn up a lot of downtime screwing around on Facebook because of the iPhone app. Frankly, I'd rather spend that time screwing around on the WotC community, but it's just too hard to use via the web on that tiny screen.

Onesite, the provider of the social networking suite WotC is using, announced an iPhone interface called eNotify some time ago. I'm sure it's a paid extra though.

On a side note, I haven't been able to successfully load their chat room for days. I upgraded Flash after upgrading to Snow Leopard, but I'm not sure if that has anything to do with it.

I poked around the most likely places over there that would have an answer to this and didn't find anything. In fact most posts I saw asking for any kind of technical help have been met with complete silence.

I did find a customer service phone number for people who can't log in: 1-800-324-6496, Monday-Friday 9am-6pm PST / 12pm-9pm EST. There's also this page to e-mail with problems & feedback, but when I attempted to access it, I couldn't get past the required login, which is apparently different than the one for the forums.

Okay, I think the problem is that, when it asked for my username and password, I entered my username and password.

It does not want your username, it wants your e-mail address. Why it would ask very specifically for one piece of information when it actually wants another quite different one is beyond me, but it doesn't seem to be the dumbest thing about the new boards.

(Thus my taking so many days to investigate this, rather than a few hours - this reflects nothing more than lack of enthusiasm on my part.)

Still, now that I can post again I'll poke around, though I must say the sheer whiteness irritates my eyes.

I still like it, even more than before.

I'll like it more if:

They make it easy to find WotC employee blogs/posts.
They make it so I can move the boxes of content on my page around. I don't care about friend activity...
They make it so I can only see D&D stuff, and not Magic postings. That just makes it hard to find interesting stuff.
One or two or 10 people don't post hundreds of posts, making the site "their's" and boring.
They make it easier to see/organize the forums.
More of my friends join, and interact more.

All in all, the organization/ability to find stuff isn't what it could be.
