D&D 4E Is there any D&D 4th computer game?

Empowering the Player - should be a key word for a 4e online rpg. WoW and its ilk have the strategic feeling forced movement and similar things... without being turn based - turn based play is like wash away the adrenaline... and leave me with dry stuff.

I find myself imagining ... mouse gestures to control moves.. especially at-wills
for instance a circular motion for cleave and sliding forward move for reaping strike.
shrug... creativity on the interface can make a big difference in the game feel.

What a load of bollocks.

The Baldur's Gate series, Icewind Dale series, and previous edition games have all been turn-based and have sold very well.
Yeah, but they allowed you to play them as you would a real-time game, which I'd say is what most people did, because it was the default option. The turns were concurrent.
I don't think that 4th edition would translate well to such a system because it depends heavily on the turns taking place one after the other and on the battle grid.

No more than 3rd edition did.

Encounter powers become powers with a one minute cool-down, Dailies require a rest.

System done.

What about powers that let you shift before or after an attack? Choosing which foe to mark with every attack? Stuff like that.
I'm not saying it couldn't be done, I'm just saying that 4e is harder to translate to a semi real time format.
But I'd love to see a game with 4e rules, true turn based combat (like ToEE) and a good story like BG2 or PS:T. Ah, one can dream.

Marking foes is called clicking on them while holding down the mark key.... or attacking them while holding it down... shifting is a mobility that doesnt make you vulnerable (how about using shift key). powers that wont let you attack right after shifting disable while you are shifting or till a moment after.( or your attack is automatically one that your can use right after shifting... or the shift key is ineffective if you didnt use the power which enabled it just before... etc.

I think it could be a blast ;-)

I just think it's a shame they did the D&D MMO for 3rd instead of 4th... frankly, I think 4e will adapt very well to CRPG, whether turn-based or not. Sure, if it's not turn-based you won't be able to do some of the wacky things with 'slides' that you can do now... but that's okay.

Could also do some interesting things with dailies/surges where you only extended rest at particular points, but you can still function pretty fine on short rests.
