[sblock=OOC]If anyone else wants to do an action, go ahead. For example, if Knoepf wants to heal someone by trying Astral Seal before Boruuk kills the last skeleton.
[/sblock]

As the last skeleton falls and the echoes of combat recede, the room suddenly goes as quiet as a tomb. The feint smell that was earlier detected is still evident. In fact, the skeletons themselves appear to have the same smell when examined closely. Searching the skeletons does not discover any coins or anything else of worth, but they all have chainmail, a large shield, a large pouch of which only two skeletons still have one rock each in, and a longsword. The equipment looks old and slightly deteriorated, but nowhere near the age of the room. It was possibly crafted within the last half century or so maybe, based on the style and level of deterioration. It is likely that someone set these skeletons up as guards to protect against someone entering the room from below.

The room appears to have been some great underground hall at some point that collapsed, possibly due to water seepage under the floors. It is bereft of any sort of decorations on the walls, so the reason for the room is indeterminate. The only clue is that the floors were of an extremely smooth marble-like stone that makes it look like a room with some form of official capability as opposed to just a work place. It might have been a hidden temple or a site for some form of rituals. It takes some serious effort to create a room with these types of floors, but if there were furniture or other objects in the room at some point, they are no longer evident.

There is also only one door that leads to the room. It appears to be made of teak or some other slightly more exotic wood, but extreme age and the dryness of the area has made it look about as exotic as a weathered door on an old outdoor outhouse. It is locked, but appears to look as if it would break apart if someone were to lean on it.

yes, go ahead and say that knoepf did astral seal on the skeleton. roll: 31 crit! The skeleton is really glowing now. 11 hp goes to whoever hit him first
[/sblock]

As the last skeleton falls Knoepf moves to a nearby wall and leans against it. "Please let me rest a bit before we move on."

ooc: Knoepf spends 2 surges to get to full health.

I'm not one of those DMs that do not allow Healing Word during a short rest. Knoepf can easily get back his total hit points with a single healing surge instead of two during a short rest.

Knoepf, after resting with eyes closed for a bit gets up and moves to Boruuk. "Let me mend some of your wounds...skeleton crusher" He smiles at Boruuk, then speaks in the words of a healer, prompting a healing surge to flow rapidly through Boruuk's body. "Feel better Boruuk?" Knoepf says while inspecting his work with an eye of a seasoned battlefield medic. He then moves back to the wall again, heals himself, then rest a little while longer.

ahhh...in that case Knoepf uses healing word on boruuk and himself respectively for 17 and 14 hp plus Boruuk can use a surge. Knoepf does not spend a suruge since the 14 hp brings him up to max.

[sblock=Healing Word]
Sorry, but Healing Word doesn't work that way. You still have to spend the surge, even if the modifier is enough to get you all of the way back to full hit points. The surge gives the target his normal surge plus the modifiers.

"I'm beginning to grow tired of these traps and deadly set ups." comments Hasifar, who is now sitting on the floor, appreciating the marble.
