[sblock=Mechanics]1 is the loneliest number...[/sblock]

Tell me about it. That's what Keke rolled. :lol:

Hey guys, focus your search on the northern face of the mountain, there will be must better footing and less chance for something bad to happen. she calls out, trying to help the group navigate this treacherous area.

Assuming Susan was successful and is actually part way up, Grys puts on his Climbing Kit.

"Susan, throw down a rope. That will help the rest of us to climb. I'll come up to assist you and if anyone is really bad at climbing, we can pull them up on ropes."

After a rope comes down, Grys will attempt to climb up, using Ryda's "better path" when possible.

[sblock=ooc]Just waiting on RickRoll to rule on 16's original roll, as that means we're either 5 successes and 3 failures, or 4 successes and 4 failures, and if we're at 4 failures, I think the rules change a little.[/sblock]

Once up the rockslide, Unit 16 ties a rope around a large rock and throws the other end down to help others climb up. Seeing no better path in his current location, he follows Ryda's advice and goes to jump down toward the area on the northern face of the mountain. He jumps carefully from rock to rock, looking carefully for solid places to land.

[sblock=skill challenge]athletics roll again: a total of 20! Another pass! I think we're 6 and 3?[/sblock]
He just barely makes it without slipping, but lands steady on the rocks and begins to search for an easier path for his companions.

[sblock=posting for Jarren]It's been 4 days so I will go ahead and post for his character.[/sblock]
Jarren continues to follow the beginnings of a path that he discovered earlier, heading toward the northern side of the mountain and carefully searching for an easier way for others to follow.

[sblock=skill challenge]Jarren makes another perception roll: 29! Whew - I think that does it, if I am not mistaken![/sblock]
Finally, with Ryda's help and the others searching as well, Jarren manages to spot a good route and directs the others safely around the rest of the rockslide.

Even with the continually present rain and fog the group manages to find a way around the rockslide with only minimal difficulty. After continuing on for another few hours, you must be close based on your directions, but the weather is making it difficult to navigate.

Fog obscures your view of the hilltop, but as you ascend, you see a tower that has been reduced to a broken ring of mortared stone, punched through with gaping holes. It rises to a height of only 20 feet, its top resembling a jagged crown. The upper levels are gone, their remains scattered upon the hillside. Some large shrubs grow near the tower, and you also see a pair of drab tents and a smoldering campfire threatened by the rain.

[sblock=ooc]
The fog and rain provide concealment for anyone within 5 squares and total concealment beyond that range. You're currently on the bottom right corner of the map that you were given. The tents are about 40 feet away. [/sblock]

Halt Mythra says to the party in a whisper. The fog makes it impossible to see anything. I shall send the cat to investigate before we move any further. With a command Martha stalks silently in direction of the tents.

Not sure if I would get a bonus because of the fog or not.

"Hmmm. The fog is pretty thick. I'd just as soon have a clearer lay of the land instead of us bumbling into a bunch of Hobgoblins unaware. What does everyone think of sending out a scout or two to get the lay of the land? If they get in trouble, they just run back straight to us where we can set up an ambush. Actually Mythra, I was thinking of sending out an invisible Imp instead of a visible Cat. No need to advertise our presence by accident."

[Sblock=Wow, I'm slow: Edit]Did it really take me that long to type this all out? She'd wait then while ninja familiars do their thing.[/Sblock]

Well, looks like we are here, whispers Ryda, nocking an arrow in her bow. I’m going to try and creep up an take a listen near those tents. If I’m not back in 2 minutes, worry. With that said, Ryda whirls in place, and with a wave of her mottled grey cloak, vanishes into the mists, heading toward a fallen log... but comes to her senses and returns to the group while those much stealthier press forward

[sblock=Rolls]1d20+11=12 1d20+9=25 Hotness, two 1’s in a row! Making up for all the love I got in R1's game I guess. Someone stop her before she gets too close![/sblock]

Unit 16 waits.

[sblock=ooc]He has absolutely no pretensions about his complete lack of stealth. :) For the record, it's -1.[/sblock]
