The Hunted: Day 1, Hour 2, Minute 28
The group heads upstairs, some looking for the maid, while others look for the master bedroom. Both are easy to find.
GM: | I suppose I should have mentioned that these crime scenes might be a bit graphic. It's a bit late now, but I thought it would be fair to warn you before you go on. | |
[sblock=The maid's room]The maid is in a small room that looks like a servants quarters. It is fairly plain and unadorned, just a set of cubbies in the wall for storing clothing and the like, a small bed, and a few candles. The maid is lying in bed in the fetal position(also, the fatal position), the blood-soaked blankets wrapped around her. Her unseeing eyes are wide and her expression is frozen in a grimace of terror.[/sblock]
[sblock=The Master bedroom]The room is large and lush, a thick blue carpet covering the floor with exotic furs lying next to a wide fireplace. A sprawling four-poster bed sits on the far side of the room flanked by tall bookshelves full of books and scrolls.
In the corner not far from the fireplace is what looks like a large accountant's desk, spilling over with stacks of paperwork that also litters the room. A few neat stacks of gold still sit on the table, while the rest is spilled across the desk and floor.
Above the desk is a heavily blood-spattered painting that looks like it might be people standing somewhere, but there's too much blood on it to tell. The mantle of the fireplace is covered with an array of cups, bowls, and chalices, of various materials and styles.
Again, all this sinks in later. The first thing you see is a man literally torn in half. His right side is half-lodged in the plaster of the wall several feet off the ground while is right has been flung across the room and is mangled up in the bent and broken frame of a brass-and-glass window wrapped around it like an obscene cocoon. Stretched between like a gruesome spider web is the man's entrails, most sagging down to the floor but some still taut between the man's two halves.[/sblock]
[sblock=Mab]You head upstairs, finding a long hallway with a balcony at the end that has a ladder leading to a giant roof-top brass tank full of water with two huge pipes running to it. Tristram meanwhile finds you up there with thoughts of something similar, but smaller and with more gears and pipes down in a basement level.[/sblock]
[sblock=Illarion]There's several doors and dozens of large windows; there's plenty of ways in. As for this house, you recall that a pair of strange githzerai artificer brothers - Nexal and Skavaki or something like that - used to live here but fled town after some construct they built escaped and supposedly murdered a few people. Who knows what happened to them after that, but the city seized the house and auctioned it off a few years back. You don't remember who it was that bought it though.[/sblock]
[sblock=Raijin]You detect traces of Abyssal magics here - stronger than Dartanian's murder site, but its too general and faded to pick up much more.[/sblock]
[sblock=Llama Bill]Welcome back! No offense, but I didn't notice you weren't posting. Between running two games and two PC and working two jobs I've been pretty busy. Jump in whenever. I'm assuming you've read up and are all caught up on what's going on.[/sblock]
