Leif's Homebrew 4E, OOC1

Additional Treasure

I scanned over the aborted module and saw a couple of items that you should probably have, so: HERE, HAVE THEM!

1. Bag of Holding

2, a 'plain old' +2 Dagger

Fight over these as you wish.

No, no, no. You have missed the point of the magic item powers. It is just that item powers are like the personal powers of a character, except that in this case the item is the character. In other words, some items have certain DAILY powers and/or ENCOUNTER powers, possibly in addition to their AT-WILL (or 'always on') power(s).

So if a level 3 wizard is allowed 1 daily power, does that mean that he picks between the sleep spell he knows and the daily power of his sword? Or can he activate both in the same day?

No, he doesn't have to choose between those powers. The power of the spell comes from the wizard, and the power of the sword comes from the sword. Still he can only activate each of those daily powers once/day. Now when you've got THAT down, we'll move on to a discussion of magic implements! :D

OK, so a Wizard 3 can use his spells and the powers of his magic items. So Elerosse will have new encounter powers to use from his cloak, wand, and sword.

His wand is +1, so that gets added to his spells when he uses that wand as an implement to cast his spells. What else do I need to know?

The Badge is from the Adventurer's Vault 2. I hope this is no problem.

2) Badge of the Berserker (neck) (AV2 42)
3) Vanguard Gouge (weapon) (AV1 81)
4) Fortification Scalemail (armor) (AV1 45)
Bought (level 2): Bracers of Mighty Striking. (PH1 244)

Happy Holidays!

There used to be a limit on how many daily magic item uses per day you could use, it was 1/milestone in heroic tier, but WotC recently removed the restriction as it was a fairly arbitrary number the items with daily powers became far less useful if you couldn't even use it.

The wand's +1 gets added to hit and damage. That's all you need to know I think :)

Also note that for the wand's bonus to apply, the power in question must have the IMPLEMENT keyword in its description. (Most do, I think.)

Not a problem, Adventurer's Vault 2 is perfectly legal and subject to raiding by pcs. :D

And now the game enters the dark, foreboding vale of Leif's home-brew!
"Abandon all hope ye who enter" sorry, wrong location! :D:p

Magic implements also add to critical hit damage as well. It will be interesting to see if that ever happens.
