Badass of the Week looks like it has some potential for temporal slaying. It's also obviously run by a D&D player:

(John Henry):
He was tall, cut, and OH YEAH he was also the STRONGEST MAN EVER - like he rolled a natural 18/00 for Strength legitimately which is about as common as a hot babe attending DragonCon without receiving any sort of monetary compensation for doing so.

...

With his trusty fourteen-pound hammer “Lucy” (a Warhammer of Strength +3, double damage to all Golems and Rock or Stone-Related Constructs), he demonstrated unmatched power, tunneling ten to twelve feet per day in the Pre-Steroid Mining Era

(Hector of Troy: )

After a brutal steel-cage Hell in a Cell duel Hector put him down like a Kenny Loggins record and stole the Armor of Achilles (Bronze Plate Mail +5, +3 STR, Damage Reduction 50%) for himself.

(MacGyver: )

and if the late, great Gary Gycax (sic) hadn’t already departed from this mortal realm and transcended into the Elemental Plane of Awesome he probably would have said that on top of MacGyver’s 18 Intelligence he also has a +40 to Demolitions, a +40 to Repair, and a +60 to Jury-Rigging Random :):):):).

I definitely spend a lot of time there too, but I don't really see it as time wasted - I always feel like I'm learning something (although this could be delusional on my part B-) ).
Even though the information isn't entirely accurate it is still a good starting point for learning about things, so yeah, not really time wasted.
