Weapon Enchantments and Monks

I asked the folks at WotC about this ages ago. Apparently, it was somewhat controversial and they left the wording ambiguous to let DMs make the decision themselves. It was, I was told, within the spirit but not letter of the rules.

It should be noted, however, that 1) there is a PrCl that explicitly allows this (the aforementioned Kensai) and 2) Monte Cook's alternative version of D&D- Arcana Unearthed (and Arcana Evolved)- included a feat called Hands As Weapons that let you permanently enchant unarmed strikes as if they were manufactured weapons.

Anything that you know of published online for the Hands as Weapons feat. Couldn't find it in Unearthed Arcana which I'm guessing is different from what you're talking about.

You cannot enchant a Monk's unarmed strike. Jimlock's right, it has to be masterwork in order to become a permanent magic item - and no matter what a monk tells you, he's not a masterwork.

What if he is a construct or a warforged?

(don't remember if there are any rules saying you can not make them masterwork)

It wouldn't be a bad idea, but I don't think you can enchant a monk's unarmed strike. At least I've never heard it suggested in the monk optimization threads and monk handbooks I've read.

I wish someone would create a D20 game where you could do this...

It's not as funny as a flesh-and-blood character explaining that his physique is ****ing masterwork - the perfect tool for the job, IYKWIM.

Unearthed Arcana is a WotC product- Arcana Unearthed and Arcana Evolved are from Malhavoc.

Ever see a clip of Jersey Shore? I could totally a Monk based on "The Situation" actually saying that he was "****ing masterwork " because he would BE a perfect tool.:)

"Looka dese abs! What could be moah mastuhwoik dan dose babies, huh?"<does martial arts moves>"WA-CHAaaaaaaAAAH!"

Or you could take a page from the MMORPG and simply make "Handwraps" that don't take up glove slot but don't stack with weapons wielded. The handwraps themselves could be enchanted with +1 - +5 and all the other nifty stuff.

I'm thinking if the house rule was implemented do you count your entire body for the weapon enchantment or can you individually enchant your fists each, elbows, knees, and feet?
