I loved it in the theater. It hit so many "fan" buttons I was giggly after. The music left an impression, I bought the album.

I didn't much care for the skit during the credits though.

Alright so.. in everyone's opinion what would be better deal/best use of my time:

Renting the movie via GoogleMovies, iTunes, or Amazon ot Pay per view or on demand for 3.99 or 5.99
Buying the dvd... with a gift card from Best Buy
Waiting for it to hit Showtime or Movie channel or Cinemax or HBO
Stabbing myself in the face with a sharp stick instead of watching it.

Really depends on your tastes. If Rule of cool or Fanservice makes you face palm it might not be a movie for you. But I'd say rent it, the visuals are worth it, but maybe not worth enough having a copy of it laying around, leading to having to explain the movie to others.

I got my ticket price's worth JUST from the Castle scene, which was infinity closer to what I had wanted out of the drag-ass Reign of Fire.

Then I watched the movie and I think my greatest dislike was what had been mentioned before that I somehow don't see her thinking about herself in a brothel. You'd think if she was going to create a fantasy world, she'd be like a famous actress or singer or something,
I thought the brothel was a mental coping mechanism for the sexual abuse by the staff. It was also a method to make the situation more palatable to the less creeptastic movie viewers. IIRC Vera Gorski even hung a lampshade on that right when the Hospital transitioned to the brothel for the first time.

I thought it was interesting. Not interesting enough for me to purchase at full price, but interesting. Strangely enough, I did enjoy how Vanessa Hudgens' death was "mookish."
