Help me convince my DM that monks aren't broken

I don't have OA in front of me, but the entire point of the Shiba Protector PrCl is to make armored flurriers. And it has zero Monk level prereqs. As you level in the PrCl, you become able to FoB with more and more weapons...so I'm pretty sure you'd be able to FoB in armor with unarmed strikes at SP LVL 1.

1. I am curious; where is this stated?
2. The cleric could just get a Monk's belt and have all of the awesome with none of the suck.

No Flurry, though.
Also, a robe is not armor, but it is very clear that they're enchantable. Treat it as not having the right slot affinity (as most robes offer unique abilities, not armor bonuses).
Similarly, enchanting a Shirt (not the same body slot) has the affinity type "Physical Improvement", so Natural Armor the Hells out of it.
Similarly, a Vest or Vestment (not the same slot as the shirt) has the affinity type "Class Ability Improvement", so get some extra Monk AC from it if your DM will allow you to invent your own enchants.

No flurry of misses? Not much of a loss.

So what you are saying is that custom items can make a class more powerful.

I don't think Shiba Protector is the name of the thing you're thinking about.
It's a Samurai PRC that offers extra saving throws, can empower Shugenja spells cast on himself, adds her wisdom modifier to her attack and damage rolls, etc.
No real Monk flavour in here at all, except that it gets Diamond Soul at level 9.

No, what I'm saying is that the Monk/Cleric doesn't miss out on AC by not wearing Full Plate and a Shield.

Flurry of Misses comes out to be Flurry of Awesome when you factor in the Cleric buffs (Divine Power is instantly better with an extra attack at maximum fighter BAB).

Ouch! You're 100% right- I think I'm actually thinking of Shou Disciple...which is actually in Unaproachable East. Apologies, all!

Pretty cool class for a Monk, actually. Definitely helps the BAB and Unarmed damage increase is nice. Being able to get to your maximum (2d20) by level 13 isn't bad at all. (Shou5, Monk 8, Monk's Belt). 4d8 with Empty Hand Mastery, ever upward with Enlarge type spells.

Or the Clonk (cleric/monk :D) could wake up and cast magic vestment on the robe. And get bracers of armor.

let get this right.
1. House ruled heavy
2. experience? ( my definition, 3+ yrs of dming the gaming biweekly).
3 . wanting non core class.
4. hate monks.
I can help but it will hurt. Send me $10K a round trip plane ticket, cab fare to and from the airport. Time and place. Now once I get done. Your dm may have roll his dice with his toes and will occasionally go off into la la land due to pain meds. but he will allow the build.
:) ok that is what I want to do but.
Give it up you at least 3 out 4 pts against you. I would say find a new dm. But I don't know if you are strong enough to quit playing if you can't find a game style/dm to your liking.

It sort of depends upon what style campaign you are playing. Monks are actually one of the best and strongest classes by far within a low-powered survival horror style game as they are so self-contained and don't really need equipment. Their various abilities could be argued to quite defeat the object of such play.
