Even Newer(er) Tavern Thread: The Hanged Man

ooooooh.... that's new

Vanessa stops carving and cranes her neck to look at Mab and the construct she is doing a reading for. She bites her lower lip hesitantly, apparently thinking very strongly about something. Then, with a quick shake of her head to dispel whatever it was, she goes back to her work. She does, however, stop in between strokes of her blade to glance over at the construct. Her whittling becomes even more determined.

Anyone paying attention to the wood working she's been doing can see now that the previously random cuts and gouges are beginning to take shape. It's recognizable as a humanoid figure, at least.

Without looking up she asks her two tablemates quietly, "What is that over there? The metal man? I've never seen anything like it. He doesnt.... (she halts that thought abruptly) He's interesting."

OOC: I'd recommend patience. PbPs are best measured in months and even years, and you'll be dissapointed if you want results in days or weeks. Things will be rolling along... eventually.

OOC: It depends on how many people need approvals. Don't worry, you can still go on an adventure (as long as your GM is OK with your character needing approval) you just need approval before you can receive xp (which is usually only handed out once or twice in an adventure).

OOC: And, as a reminder, you only need 1 judge approval to be official, so long as you have 1 non-judge (or other judge) one. So go review a character today by looking at it and emailing the judges/player when done. Like Incarnation or Damen for example. ;)

Nave turns his head towards Prime. At the end of his pathetic sobbing, he seems to forgive Vanessa's knife-threat because she decided not to ditch him and his rival, Howler.

"Well," says Nave, wiping his nose on his sleeve. "I believe there were a few Warforged in the Imperium, but they were rare. I have never met one myself, to be honest. People say that they can do everything a man can, but I still can't understand how such strange creatures... err- contraptions... work." His broken spirits seem to wash away most of his greater-than-thou attitude, but there is still the slightest amount of it in his tone.

Howler turns to Felix, an over-dramatic look of righteous indignation on his face. "Oi! Blighter! I'll have ye fightin' over the haggle of a surgeon's tick if'n you wanna squawk what I'm fightin' this preener o'er! Hones' cutter like me'self bein' the on'y thing keepin' this dove from gettin' perched all over by dirty crows! Now tucker down and keep yer beak outta me flight path as I show ye what an upright man shows like!" He looks back to Vanessa. "Blighters got no manners in this port. Waters I sail, if a do-er, lady, pulls a knife everyone knows she can handle herself."

Hoping for a change of topic, Howler turns to look at the metal man, finishing his ale as he does. "Mm, I worked with one of them once. Little creepy, I mean they don't eat, they don't sleep and they can't take a joke, but they don't lie, neither, so we get along. Maybe he'll let you get a look at those gears, one I knew didn't mind a little innocent curiosity."

Hey buddy, nobody gets to pick on the fighters except me, got that? Sharpe says, drawing himself to his full unimpressive height and walking up to Howler. So let's cut the jerkface of the year attitude, because NOBODY gets to outdo me in that department! I'm the crazy person with questionable alignment issues here!

I am a bard! I have have class features more powerful than your entire class! I can learn every trick in the book! I can out strike a damager and out control a leader!

FEAR AND COWER BEFORE ME FOOLISH MORTAL! he shouts as dramatic thunder claps outside.

Raising an eyebrow at Felix at this latest Sharpe's outburst, Drew spoils the drama by saying to Prime loud enough for everyone to hear him.

"You can, you know, just ignore him like we do." with that he sits back to his table.

OOC: In case you're not reading upcoming adventures, there is one ready for 1-3 levels

Howler stands up to his full, rather impressive height and looks Sharpe dead in the eyes. He narrows his own eyes for a second, and the deadly calm of potential violence enters the air. Abruptly, Howler bursts into laughter and throws an arm around Sharpe. "I like this gull! You got it, you can be loopier than me if'n you fly it. But here, have some of this food, you might want it in ya 'fore ye hit the rack." He grabs a hunk of bread and hands it to Sharpe.

OOC: I know, right? I'm all excited.

"Must be and interesting life. Not having to worry about things like hunger and such. Must give him plenty of time to consider other aspects of existence. (to herself) I should like to talk to him later, yes."

Hoping for a change of topic, Howler turns to look at the metal man, finishing his ale as he does. "Mm, I worked with one of them once. "Well it's not his insides I'm all that concerned with. I wouldn't understand all that gear-work anyway. I'm more interested in the type of person a warforged can become. Especially when left to their own devices like this one."

OOC: OH AWESOME. I'd like to get into a game ASAP. I know I seem impatient (what with not having had my character reviewed yet) but this particular character has been burning a hole in my brain since i thought of her. Hope the DM will allow an unofficial player...
