Leif's Homebrew 4E, OOC1

For some reason the Gnome seems to attract little characters to Leif's games. There is a Brownie in one game, now maybe a pixie.

I'm up for collaborative backgrounds.

...feywild game?
Um. Leif? What are your feelings about a pixie PC?
:D
Hmm, could work, I guess. I haven't checked the MM to see if theres a pixie entry in the PC section, but assuming that there is one I don't see why not. WD played a Minotaur Barbarian in my last 4E game. (Well, he started out as a Fighter, because the Barbarian hadn't been published when we started....)

Yeah, that's gettin' to be a liability I fear. And, in keeping with the tradition of having my ENWorld Avatar reflect my character in your game, it's getting to be time to retire the Gnome and find a good Half-Orc pic....

Actually he started as a barbarian and became a slayer later...

Pixies are part of the new Feywild book (together with satyrs and hamadryads).

Actually, the Pixie-as-PC was just released in Heroes of the Feywild...but a preview...the October In The Works in fact...has the stats and racial power writeups.

I'll play with it a bit and see if it's as good/fun as the eladrin build I did. If not, Eladrin it is. Cuz I'm not sure a pixie is ideally suited to be a bard. Attribute-wise they're fine, but...well we'll see.

Whatever, man. I don't think the Barbarian had been published when we started, but he was your character, so whatever you say.

Yeah, I did say Eladrin, didn't I? Well, your pixie will need to have some relation to Eladrin of some kind, but I'll leave that to you. At least, I think that's necessary...

Shayuri, do me a favor and post all the Pixie info in a spoilerblock somewhere in your character sheet/post/whatever, ok?

And, since the "Eladrin-only" thing is now officially busted, I guess anyone else can play any sort of fey we've got racial write-ups for, Eladrin, Elf, Drow, Gnome, or Thornblood. The Thornblood is a plant-like Fey from Blackdrige's Dungeon Denizens. They're not particularly interesting, and "any that seek to alter the natural balance of an area are sure to draw their wrath." They're very weird and I really hope that no one wants to play one....

lol

Time out, whoa there. I can do eladrin. I'm not married to the pixie thing. I was asking permission, not making a demand. :)

Heck, my eladrin bard is already almost done too. I had just been going over the Wizards website and stumbled over the article and thought, hey...maybe I'll ask about this.

But it's not my intent to mess with an established game precedent. There'll be other games I can make a pixie in. I am patient.

Hey, really, it's not a major deal. If you want to play a pixie, by all means, play a pixie. I don't want your dislike of your character to be a reason why we lose a good player. History has shown that when Shayuri makes an unscheduled exit from one of my games, the end is very near. [Ok, so that game had more problems that you can shake a jumpdrive at, but who's counting?]

Truthfully, I had this fully realized concept for an Eladrin party on a mission, but a few nights of sleep, and that sucker evaporated. Gone. Like smoke. So, maybe it'll come back to me, but it can be adapted, and switching from Eladrin to Fey is easy enough. If you want to be the only Pixie, we can talk about that. If you want to be the only non-Eladrin, well, that's tougher, because how can I really say 'no' to someone else when I've already said 'yes' to you? But if everyone else is gung-ho rabid to play Eladrin then you'll have your cake and eat it, too.
