Class ideas for an Ender of Days in a high powered campaign.

L6 lower tier (non-caster) characters taking out CR20's seems implausible unless you have ignored LA or ignored WBL...

Just ignore LA, ECL and (level adjustment, effective character level) and go crazy with base races, half-this-and-that species, and add some templates.

Items help to make 6th lv characters sort of uber too, but not really that much.

Somebody XP me...

3rd edition it was pretty easy to create overpowered chars if dm wanted them.

you hit it right on the head, If I could reply more often i would have said it myself lol, they all are at least LA 5-6 races, so about lv11-12 in reality with 6lvs in a class.

we don't use many in this one, but we were given a fair amount of starting cash to spend on weapons and armor, so they have above average equipment.

There is also matter that not every 20 CR creature is created equal. Some of them are lot weaker than others.

Also there are strength in numbers. If high CR monster is all alone without tactics or preplanning and 4-6 pc:s just gank it mercilessly.

this is true, the only things they've tested their chracters and tactics on are a Dragon, a couple of beholders (I don't know since I wasn't there but at least CR21's worth) and 2 balors (had most trouble with that dominate save, but they still managed)

This is all fun, if whole group enjoys overpowered characters and plot arcs suited for them (or in some cases not).
However it's bit confusing when some people ignore rules or houserule stuff to actually be on same map rule-wise. I think this might be case here, and thus the lack of details.

I suppose it could get a little confusing...I didn't think it was at first. I have a vampire-demilich that needs a class(or classes) that give the feel of a world ending being, homemade class or otherwise, which sounds easy enough to me, but I guess too much homerules and playing higher-tier stuff makes things sound easier then it is.

Uh, Vampire demilich...

Before I read that, I was going to point out that while L6 VS CR20 might sound like a stretch, it's not depending on 3 things: The DM, the Players, and the Dice. I typically run published material at lower levels, so my challenges don't have tailored Kevlar vests. It is not uncommon for the treausre for the adventure prior to a white dragon hunt to include a wand of fireball or similar.

Add in the Players, who in afore mentioned example might drug the dragon and seal his cave with him inside and use a small hole to form a sort of dutch oven dragon roaster.

Through in the dice falling on the Player's side and not yours in that scenario, and BOOM, 6th level characters munching on CR20 Dragon.

Also, Naoki, try Elemental Savant for a class idea.

I don't really get what you're aiming for here. Your "character concept" seems so far outside all boundaries of the rules (vampire demilich without phylactery... yeah, right) that you could just take the "I'm awesome" class. It's got 2d12 HD each level, gets all good saves (but double-quick progression), casts as a Wizard, Cleric, Sorcerer, Druid and Psion of its level (add up spell slots, use as needed), increases an ability score by four at each level, has all skills as class skills with 16 skillpoints/level, gets a bonus feat each even level and two bonus feats each odd level, and gets variations of the Rage, Bardic Music, Uncanny Dodge, Evasion, Mettle, Familiar, Smite, Mount, Favored Enemy (all), Wildshape, Animal Companion, Sneak Attack, Divine Grace, Death Attack, High Arcana, Circle Magic class features, plus another 20 of your choice.

Or you could just play a Half-Vampire, Half-Illithid, Half-Fiend, Half-Troll, Half-Iron Golem, Ghost Demilich (without a Phylactery) Gestalt Solar Savage Progression // Wizard/Incantatrix/Archmage and call it a day.

Really. You could do that, as far as I know, given the information I have. What, specifically, do you think rules-savvy forumgoers can help you with? Because answering specific questions is much easier to do than "I want to be awesome, which class to use on a non-specified OP race in a heavily-houseruled, extremely high-power campaign with an inexperienced DM at whatever level?"

Well really I was just asking for idea's. I've actually manged to create a class now, though it's got to be tested, it's kind of a varient on the true-fiend class, but only with the Cold, frostbite, and bone spheres as well as a few other cold based abilities similar to the Winterhaunt of Urborgue(sp?). really I didn't htink using such a race varient was such an anti-rulesgasm lol. I've always believed as long as it's explainable in the realms of that worlds science then it's fine....but thats for another thread entirely so I'll just say thanks to everyone for the tips and ideas!
