First Post
Season 2, Episode 5. I can't wait to hear a man say, "speak the names and a man will do the rest."

From HBO:

The end of the Baratheon rivalry drives Catelyn to flee and Littlefinger to act. At King's Landing, Tyrion's source alerts him to Joffrey's flawed defense plan and a mysterious secret weapon. Theon sails to the Stony Shore to prove heʼs worthy to be called Ironborn. In Harrenhal, Arya receives a promise from Jaqen H'ghar, one of three prisoners she saved from the Gold Cloaks. The Night's Watch arrive at the Fist of the First Men, an ancient fortress where they hope to stem the advance of the wildling army.

Looks like it could be an interesting episode. I wonder how they'll show Melisandre's baby and what it does?

I like how the book did it
with Renly dying by surprise, and then the shadow baby being witnessed by Davos.
Looks like they might be combining Renly and Ser Courtnay together.

The thread title mentions spoilers so I'm going to be full bore with book spoilers. Proceed at your own risk.

I'm surprised that the Tickler was Arya's first choice. It's an important moment for Arya when she kills him and screams his questions at him as she does so. It also seemed odd since they have her working directly for Tywin and she gets the great scene with him where she tells him, "Anyone can die." If I hadn't read the books, I think I would have been expecting Tywin to be first on her hit list after Jaqen makes his offer to her.

Now I wonder who Arya is personally going to kill instead of the Tickler.

Throughout the series I've really felt that one or two more episodes would really flesh the story out and let it breath a bit. It really hit with this episode, though. Everything felt rushed. Just a little bit more time with Renly's death would have been nice.

Am I the only one who felt it was a little ironic that for a series that is well-known for plenty of female flesh that the show runners decided to give Dany a more modest gown to wear than the Qartheen dress she wears in the book that bares one breast? It sort of cracked me up.

Meh

I just chalk it up to modesty and practicality - it's one thing to do a nude scene by yourself or 1-2 others, entirely another to spend several weeks prancing about exposed like that; Dany will likely be in Qarth for another episode or two, if not more.

And on that note, support is something most women enjoy, so costumes lacking such can be a pain. Not as much s concern for extras given they're often one scene, but for a lead actress?

Still... she has nice boobies so it's somewhat missed :D

As for Arya, I don't mind that her story is taking its own path as long as the core of it remains faithful. It's both satisfying to see them come to life and enjoyable having them be a surprise. I think the key to enjoying such scenes is to not EXPECT them to play like the books.

While I certainly do not object to the viewing of the chestal region of certain membets of the female cast, we live in the age of the 'Net. Should I wish such views, GIYF :)

I agree with the expectations and lack theteof.

I don't think it's a big deal. I just think it's sort of funny.

Producer: What this scene needs is a couple of hot prostitutes making out with each other while Littlefinger gives us some back story.

Producer (the following week): Qartheen gowns reveal one breast? I don't think that's something we need. Cover Dany up!

It is an odd choice, and given that Emilia Clarke has had several nude scenes already, she's obviously quite comfortable with her body.

Still, I have to figure it's more likely a actress/extras casting issue, as opposed to a problem with designing the costumes or producers trying to avoid showing flesh.
