Prone and two handed weapons question

I have a question about the prone condition. You get a negative 4 on attacks and you can't use a short or long bow. Does something about being prone affect using two-handed weapons? Should it?

Prone only affects long and short bows as such because the designers feel it's practically impossible to use them while laying down. And in many ways it is though spending a feat on it to ignore that and get some other benefits could be useful.

I seem to recall a foot-bow that some bird race had - maybe from Races of the Wild - seems like that should be usable while prone. But it would cost you a feat anyway for the exotic weapon proficiency with that bow I guess.

As for the 2hd weapon question I didn't see anything in the rules about it, but logically if you're laying on your belly trying to swing a greataxe effectively would be pretty hard. If on your back it would be a little awkward, but much more possible.
However I would leave it alone. Adding in new limits and rules into an already rule heavy game bogs things down because now you have to decide how the person ended up while prone, was it deliberate, do you roll a % to see if it's on the back or chest, etc.

The Footbow is a classic weapon from history, and was used to great effect by the English and the Welsh, among others.

While I can't remember a specific Welsh or English battle (blame the years it's been since History class), the Battle of Civieot (Seljuq Sultan Kilij Arslan vs. Peter the Hermit) is a readily available historical battle in which the Chinese employed footbowmen to devastating effect.
The Chinese used them throughout the Han dynasty, as well.

Give me a while to find you some credible sources.

The two historical leaders you mention were both Europe-based, very far indeed from China. Either that, or wikipedia is wrong.

Raptorans treat it as a martial weapon. It is actually a great bow for them specifically as it can be fired with one hand leaving another free or two-handed for more damage.
