Depends on who you're counting- Larry Niven & Michael Moorcock are still out there, as is Ben Bova.

Jack Vance and Frederik Pohl are also both still extant (Aged 95 and 92, respectively). Robert Silverberg is still kicking at 77.

Others, let's see - Harlan Ellison is 78. Harry Harrison is 87. Ursula K LeGuin is 82.

Mr.Bradbury,
Your warmth, energy, prescience and uncanny ability to utterly freak out kids young and old will be missed.
Thanks for everything.

Hopefully, Death didn't just go, *forehead smack* "Oh yeah! I KNEW I forgot something!"

Probably not. You see, there's a sticking point in there.

Ellison. Harlan Ellison. The most ornery man in sci-fi. Does even Death want to tangle with Ellison? All the rest just have to move in with Ellison, and they could live forever.

Of course, that would be a forever living with Harlan Ellison. Pick your poison, I suppose.

All Summer in a Day is my favourite short story of all time. Right up there together with Asimov's Rain, Rain, Go Away and Alan Nelson's Narapoia. Nelson had his stories edited by both Asimov and August Derleth. Bradbury's first short stories were published in Arkham House, which was owned by Derleth, and also in Super Science Stories where Asimov too sent some of his very first ones. Round and round we go.

Hmmm...

Sounds like a geekier version of Golden Girls mixed with The Outer Limits.
