The walking dead: 3.2-3.4 what did i miss?

so i saw the first episode of the new walking dead season but have missed the next 3 (hopefully not the 5th one). what all did m iss. i saw a glimpse of T dog getting bit and im guessing thats lori that dies at the end of the same episode? but why in the talking dead did they say T dog dies like a hero when he was just closing a fence?

He doesn't die then, he dies later when saving Carol, and definitely sacrifices himself (though he know that, having been bit, he'll be a zombie before long, so he'd have to be put down at some point anyway).
