Pathfinder 1E [LPF] Rodents of Unusual Size

Yyou arrive without incident to "Fresconi's wares, portage and storage", the most peculiar thing of note is the silence. Any other warehouse at this time would be busy - the hustle and bustle of business would have people, carts, wagons and horses crawling about like ants on a hill that had been kicked.

Dame Morrogrim looks around the front of the warehouse for anything suspicious.

OOC: Morrogrim casts Detect Magic towards the warehouse. Also, I started an OOC thread and posted a question for Scott.

Robert takes a look at the surrounding Buildings of the Warehouse.

OOC: [MENTION=49929]Scott DeWar[/MENTION] are there any alchemist stores, wizard schools, chapels for demons or other buildings that could be a reason for mutation of rats?
@Cyclopean according to your wiki page, you have a snake as a compagnion, did the group already see it (and me as a player missed it)? Just asking cause of the snake bashing story that Robert told

OOC: A most unusual group. I'm lovin' it!
OOC: It sure is, but that just makes it even better :D

"We all seem to be ready to go. Lead the way, Sargent Marteen!"
Tirgas turns to Dame Morrogrim and seems immensely pleased. "So she's something like Topaz here, although not so conspicuous? You're not a druid, are you?"

On the way, Morgrym can't help but to ask several questions about how a dwarf from Seithr Mountains, that usually love metals more than anything, became a druid. Some of the questions are:

" would you depart with your animal companion for a 1000 gold !? I know I would sell my grand mom for that price... If I had one that is "

" In an emergency, would you rather eat your hand or Topaz !? "

"Oh no, Tirgas, I respect your study of the primal magics, but I am no druid." she responds somewhat amused at the idea. "I have been called many things, but a witch is probably most appropriate." Pausing to study the directions, she turns to the watchmen. "I believe we should be able to find our way. Once the issue is resolved, we will send you word, Sargent."

As soon as Dame Morrogrim mentions she is a witch, Morgrym by reflex jumps a couple a feet away from her and quickly approaches Robert to whisper nervously " we should be vary of the lass brother. I once knew a friend that got turned into a newt by a witch ". As if he already knew Robert would question his story he adds " he got better though... "

While everybody else scouts with their eyes or magic, Morgrym simply forms a small horn with his hands and yells " IS SOMEBODY HERE? " and " WE HAVE COME TO GET RID OF THOSE RIDICULOUSLY UGLY MUTT'S ?! We are also thirsty ! "

No magic is detected from the building, however, a well dressed man walks by that gives off minor illusion magic. You are guessing his attire looks to be better quality then it actually is. A common businessman's trick.
@Grayn

[sblock=ooc]I prefer you use the [sblock="title here"]place information here[/sblock] spoiler blocks here in this thread only. Thank you in advance.

This district is nothing but warehouses. some made entirely of stone down to entirely of wood and mixtures of both. the regeon actually rises slightly from the level of the canals, though a dock a short ways away does serve this area.

There has been mention of an academy of magic, but that is in the Ivory District, if you recall what Heinrich mentioned correctly. but that is a long ways off.

A man off to the left jumps, startled at the loud voice. He wears clothing of average wealth, you would guess, a bit dusty from labor. He appears to have been paceing infront of a writing desk, journals and loose papers in stacks with quill and ink off to the side.

"Oh! Yes, help at last. yes yes indeed! As for dog, no, no! they are rats. Here, I have a keg tapped already. A Merlot from the baronies to the east. My favorite."

There is indeed a keg tapped, an empty goblet nearby with several others revealed when he lifts a cloth, upside down to keep any dust out of them. He flips 4 over and fills them, offering them to the group. He fills the other and takes a gulp. His hands are shaking the whole time.

"They are definitely rats." He walks to a crate and opens it to reveal a rat the size of a tarrier dog. Draining his goblet he steps away to refill it.

There is no one else in sight.

@Scott DeWar : I would like to regularly cast Guidance on the party prior to entering a new space or engaging a new target.

It is a standard action that lasts a minute (or at discharge), so with four in the party, it should take me 24sec. That should give everyone enough time to engage and perform an action before time runs out.

Am I reading that right? Will you allow it?

guidance is a nice little spell :)

OOC: that is doable. also, yes, a good idea. A cloak of resistance will eventually negate that need.

I will figure out a time ticker to keep things linear.

"Äh Tirgas. You know... the story about the snake bashing... Just to make sure, I wasn't part of that...." Robert says hastly, as he somehow, god knows how, missed the snake up until now.

OOC: Seriously how did I miss the snake? I should go see an eye specialist.

"Seeing your jumping ability, I doubt a witch could ever turn you in a newt my friend." Robert shakes his head smiling.

"Here take mine as well, I think you need it." Robert says and returns the goblet with wine. "Apparently we have an expert exterminator with us. Robert says, pointing at the Alchemist Morgrymm so just point us to the cellar and we get rid of your rats."

Taking back the goblet he sets it down.

"MARKOS!!" The man yells, "Oh, and I am Gerraldo Fresconi, owner."

You can feel the wooden floor shake with a rhythmic *THUD THUD* of heavy footfall, dust sifting down from the rafters. Moments later a mountain of a man walks(?) trots (?) into view.

"Hi, I'm Markos. Markos polos. Yeah boss watcha needin?"

"show these 4 people to the lift. I hired them to deal with the rats"

Markos shudders heavily and turns pale." I hates dem rats boss."

"I know, That's why they will take care of them for you, er, I mean us." The big guy nods.

"dis way" He leads you to a back wall. "When youz guys wannabe be brought back up, just ring dis bell rope here. I'll be waitn' fer ya."

"You were promised 100 gold each", says Gerraldo, "right? plus 200 at completion? yes?"

"Pleasure to meet your acquaintance, Mr Fresconi." Dame Morrogrim says, nodding in his direction with a demure smile. "I will unfortunately have to decline your gracious offer, at least until after we rid you of your infestation." She then turns back to her companions.

"With the skills of our party, I believe preparation and discretion will be our strongest allies during this task. I would recommend we make every effort to identify our threats prior to them noticing us." cocking her head, arching an eyebrow in Morgrym's direction, "And a newt would not be out of the question for anyone that can not control themselves."
