I loved this episode! Seeing Jamie jump down into that pit was awesome! I knew he had a thing for her :P

I thought they rushed the scene a bit, but that was one of the things I was looking forward to this season - Jamie jumping into the bear pit to save Brienne. It was still good, though.

Now, if only it was Vargo Hoat railing about his "thapphireth" instead of Locke...then, it may have been perfect.

I heard they found out they wouldn't be able to get Bart the Bear through customs so they had to build a stage over in the States and film it there, after every other scene on the show had already been finished. So it was rushed because they were running out of time.

I came along with the HBO series, and began reading the books thereafter. However I can still say I would prefer them to stick with the book content. Speaking of which back in season two when Danny entered the house of the undying I felt the scene was weak when compared to the book. If you recall in the book something akin to a demon seemed to be dragging its chains and following her through the strange and ominous hallways. She saw all that messed up stuff, and even saw Rahgo! In the TV show all we got was that lame "My sun and starts" stuff. Don't get me wrong their romance was an awesome story, but when compared to that beating blue heart and visions of the future...WEAK! Although I still LMAO every time Ser Jorah screams "KHALESI" I wish that could be my ringtone! XD Or maybe "WHERE ARE MY DRAGONS!!!" Not to spoil anything but I hope a CURTAIN event involving a CURTAIN someone isn't changed! I cannot wait until I see that happen! Been waiting for 3 seasons!

They've been avoiding all of the flashbacks and prophecies from the books. Like, the Theon scenes this season are all later flashbacks told afterwards. Undying would have been hard to do when you don't know what you'll be able to pull off later on in the show. What if you made a prophecy on the show and then couldn't film it?

By the way, I was really hoping there had been a full version of this rendition of the bear song in the credits instead of Castamere again:

This is true. However they could have thrown in a few things like how she was told "You shall know three betrayals." Just give it an creepy voice and wala! I also think they could have shown more of the actual warlocks. That way the HBO audience would actually understand that Piat Pree isn't the only one Danny needs to look out for. I also think they've gone a tad easy on good old Theon. In the book Ramsey was one of the sickest bastards (quite literally) you'd ever meet. Theon had his skin missing for days in the book, and he had to basically grovel to get Ramsey to cut them off. Then again I guess I am being a tad too critical, they are doing a pretty good job considering all that they have to cover! I'm just a big fan of the books, and thus wish for the story to remain unchanged. But that is impossible, or rather improbable even with an HBO budget.

It was an okay episode, though a few things bugged me.

Arya seemed to regress a bit to being a brat. Her character growth from seasons 1 & 2 seems to have stunted.

Theon/Ramsey: Ramsey did all that work to set up Theon's original "escape" to toy with him but now just seems to be halfassing it without any real creativity or patience.

The Worg trying to stir trouble because he likes Ygrid seems kind of pointless. They could have spent less screen time on that, if at all.

I'm pretty sure that this was intentional as they are setting up a heavy bit of foreshadowing for the next couple of episodes.
