A Dragonlance Against the Giants mash up, but set in the Realms?

Thats one way to put worlds together, in the Realms.

Well, after reading through all the press releases I'm intrigue, I'd love it if it were as epic as dragonlance, and I don't remember a dragon eccentric storyline in years (I might be mistaken here), I'm guessing that they decided that on the 40th anniversary on Dungeons & Dragons they should have an adventure filled with dragons.

This sounds intriguing indeed.. liking the Temple of Tiamat.. but I don't know if that angle/design of her does her justice. The Red, White and Black dragon heads look passable/alright to me, but the Green and Blue seem tacked on, making for a less than cohesive Multiheaded Dragon.. Seems to me like a little more work should be done there.

Curious to see how this ties into the whole Sundering plot line.

Finally some hints at what WotC means with Multi-Platform experience (also see the front page).

I find especially interesting that they make a distinction between video games and mobile games. Because while I have no problem believing that WotC could have a mobile game developed in secret and can announce it on short notice, video games, especially big rpgs, are very expensive and marketing starts early. If it was to be released this year it would have been announced by now or there would have been other hints.

By the way, that story is so stolen from Skyrim. I mean come on. Dragon Masks.
I also wonder if this story will suffer the same problem like the Year of the Rogue Dragon books. That everyone talks about how powerful the dragons are and how dire the situation is, but then dragons are killed left and right easily and you never get the sense that there is really a big danger.

As much as I want to dislike the metaplot, I actually kind of dig the comic book-style continuous storylines.

The only part that troubles me is where it says players get to fight Tiamat. I hope that's just an avatar, because (a) I'm of the Planescape "if you look at them, you explode" reckoning of divine power, and (b) I don't want Tiamat to be canonically dead.

Also: I don't remember Tiamat having white, blue, black, red, and yellow heads...

I think that head's supposed to be green (albeit yellowish-green).

Also, I note that this Tiamat has the 3e-style dragon heads. I dunno if the art is a reprint or not, but I'm not too sad to see 4e's green dragon nose-horn go the way of the dodo. ;)

The thing sounds pretty epic! And it's good to see dragons in D&D. Sounds like it'll be full of stuff I can loot for my "in the shadow of dragons" campaign idea...:)
