Just speculation that an announcement would coincide with the release of the Gencon event release.

So I more hoped that expected one.

For what it's worth, I thought we might have heard something more today as well. I didn't expect spoilers regarding upcoming product, but I had hoped for information about the place of the Gen Con games within the greater structure of a future organized play campaign. While there was no such announcement, we can gain some information from the postings.

1. These games, even the one hour events, are meant to be played with unique characters; materials are not provided.
2. The RPGA still exists-- at least in some form.

Though not spelled out, I suspect that these games are indeed intended to kick off the new organized play offering from WotC. It also certainly seems like the kickoff is closely tied to the Tyranny of Dragons. Also, the one hour adventure slot is supposed to have five possible adventures. The description also mentions five factions. My guess is that this is intended to introduce new characters to factions which they can choose to join for the campaign.

Any related thoughts or ideas?
