I feel a classic case of the sonic cycle. At first I was intrigued by the idea of a simplified game that cleaned up the bloat and grind of 4e. Then as more detailed emerged that it would be heavily modeled after a weird combination of 1e and 3e I became rather disenchanted. Finally, my group finished its 4e campaign happily and we've moved around to other systems. We have no interest in 5e. Not to begrudge anyone who wants to play it but to me it just doesn't look interesting, appealing, or dare I say... fun.
I'll probably come back around when 6e starts rearing its ugly head, if D&D is still around as a brand at that point.
