Once again, Silhouette interrupts with a mild, "A moment."

She casts a spell and gestures at the door. The handle and latch jiggle for a moment, as if an unseen hand were trying to open it...which was of course exactly what was happening.

(OOC - mage hand to see if the door is even locked)

The door handle jiggles and then the door opens to reveal a bricked up wall on the other side. It appears that the door was actually a false door and another way will need to be found if you are to progress.

[section]Cass permits himself a smirk. "Such talents you have, Dear Silhouette." Cass ventures closer to the end of the stairs, as far down as there is space to stand without actually stepping into the chamber at the foot of the stairs. Feeling marginally bolder, Cass addresses Armides. "Mayhap it's a matter of a hands-on search? I don't think I want to step out onto the floor. You?"[/section]

Niles watches the door handle wiggle happen, and as he ties to figure out what he is seeing, he is no sure. However, a though comes to him, "I wonder if they wouod put a secret door in the bottom of a spiked trap?"

At Niles suggestion Lord Nelleon walks to the edge of the trapdoor, drops to a knee, and looks inside for any signs of passages. "Any idea right now is good as any other."

Niles takes a guess that the room is otherwise safe and enters, looking at the two walls with out the staircase and brick wall.

[famous last words] "Come Cass, there is nothing to fear here."[/famous last words], says Niles after glancing back and seeing the one eyed man.

At Niles suggestion Lord Nelleon walks to the edge of the trapdoor, drops to a knee, and looks inside for any signs of passages. "Any idea right now is good as any other."

Carved upon the wall inside the pit near the bottom is the phrase: “Thou wert deceived. Pain is thy reward.”

Silhouette strolls over by Niles and peers down the pit. What she sees there leads her to snort derisively.

"The rule was about self-deception, not being decieved by traps. But then, twisting words IS what Asmodeus is famous for. Hm...as is deviousness."

She looks around the room, then up at the ceiling.

"Help me look around a little. Maybe the deception wasn't the trap, but was instead the door itself. There may be another way out of here."

(searching for secret doors: [roll0])

(OOC - lol...little help? :))
