I asked before, where is the six for 2015?

A year is 12 months. It's inane to pretend it has to run by a calendar year as opposed to 12 months, because that's what people mean when they say "a year from now" or "a year from the release of 5e (with the Starter Set)".

It's 3 core books, 1 Stater, 2 Adventures. That all came out in a 12 month period of time. There is no reason to think the next 12 months will be drastically different from the first 12 months. If you have a quote where WOTC says they are only coming out with two books every 12 months and those books will only be adventures, let's see it.

In fairness, using such a calendar is pretty common practice. The release of the Starter Set would generally be considered Day One for the edition.

delericho gets it :)

Does a 25 page PDF (mostly reprinting stuff in the PotA) count as a MAJOR release? Does the DM Screen (or really, any accessory, such as the Wizkid's minis or Galeforce 9 spellcards) count as major?
But a 160-page book that I'll use a page from does? Or a third book in a year that I'll look at once before it vanishes on my shelf?
"Major" is a meaningless term, as the value of a product varies from person to person.

Are we sure we're getting a RoDPG since WotC didn't mention it in the press release?
I'd be very surprised not to see something. But it might not be this year. I imagine they're working on a Forgotten Realms book, but that's a long-term product even with a couple freelancers.

I'm hoping Gen Con announces something for the tail end of 2015 (or v. early 2016). We'll see.
There are no panels from WotC that I'm aware of, so that seems unlikely.

True, but by the time Out of the Abyss premiers, we'd seen the Starter Set, PHB, and MM the year prior. And while WotC is waiting until the end to announce books, they had the Starter Set/PHB press release already by this time of year and GenCon is earlier.

It seems unlikely for us to see anything for the RPG prior to OotA in September. And it seems unlikely that we'll see three or four products in the fall of 2015. One maybe. Or maybe not.

Contrary to popular belief, most people when discussing "products this year" mean Calendar Year 2015 anno Domini. It is complete possible to read "six products in 2014" as accurate, they were just all bunched up in the latter half of the calendar year. Likewise, it is possible to say "WotC has only release two products THIS YEAR" and mean "2015". I don't find it inane in any fashion to say "WotC has published two RPG books in 2015.", nor do I find it inaccurate.

But seeing you'd prefer to discuss things in business cycle terms rather than calendar year terms; yes, WotC released six books over 12 months, mostly frontloading them in the first five months of the cycle. In the second year cycle, they have announced just one so far. We shall see after September what/if we get in addition. I predict two additional APs. I hope for something else as well.

As I learned, what you do with the content is not important, only what is produced. For sake of argument, lets define major as being over 100 pages, printed in book form, and pertains to the RPG game directly. Everything else is minor. (UA, EEPG, accessories, etc).

I'd like to imagine that too, but there appears to be no evidence of that. In fact, there is some belief that all future Forgotten Realms campaign info will be buried within the setting info sections of the various APs, like how Red Larch is expanded in Princes. I'd like to believe such a book in the works, I don't honestly know these days.

:( I seriously doubt we're getting anything else before January (and that will probably be Storyline #4's AP).

If you want to win a semantics argument rather than actually discuss the issue of what the release schedule might look like based on the past schedule, then OK Rem you win the semantics argument. I hope you feel a sense of accomplishment.

I'm wondering why Mistwell and Kamikaze Midget haven't come by yet to tell you all that you're just SWIMMING in stuff and you should use what you have first before asking for more.

I'm right in line with the majority here. Two story arcs + a little bit. I consider the Elemental Evil handbook and the UA articles a little bit. Wouldn't mind a well-considered splat once a year. If Rage of Demons comes with a player's guide, I'll be a pretty contented customer for all of 2015.

But I'm not complaining about a lack of content, either. The content I'd like is kind of like my issues with a fighter's Second Wind - more aesthetic than practical.

And if they finally do the OGL thing, even that won't be an issue.

It appears the vast majority of the people around here want more than just two APs + accessories.

Wait, are you seeing the same poll options? 2 APs + some accessories is pretty much the one with 80% of the votes. Combined with the other two "fewer" options, we've got about 70% of people just fine with 2 AP's + accessories or less.

#nitpick
GaleForce9 is doing the spellcards and extra stuff like the secondary DM Screens, not WizKids which is just doing the board games and miniatures.

But, yes, you are right that we are getting far more products than the adventures when you consider the 2nd Party Products, and just for the tabletop game.

3rd party, not 2nd. 2nd party would be the end user. At least in standard use of the terms.

Yes... Fingers crossed it will be sooner rather than later.
