Hiya!.

(1) Yes. Concentration is concentration... regardless of why you are concentrating.

-or-

(2) No. Innate is like walking... once you start walking, you can do other stuff as well, no need for concentration.

Personally, I go with #1. It makes more sense to me, and it will help curb the power-gamers in the group from salivating at the thought of trying to find some convoluted "loophole" that allows them to claim some spell as "innate" so they can bypass one of the major balancing factors of magic in the game, Concentration.

If it is Innate Spellcasting, then it would use concentration, so it MIGHT break on a hit. Heck Innate Spellcasting now require verbal and somatic components.

Innate Spellcasting. The glabrezu's spellcasting ability is Intelligence (spell save DC 16). The glabrezu can innately cast the following spells, requiring no material components:

Now Some special abilities will mimic spells, but won't be spells so they can't be countered or have concentration broken, like the golems' special tricks...

Haste (Recharge 5-6). Until the end of its next turn, the golem magically gains a +2 bonus to its AC , has advantage on Dexterity saving throws, and can use its slam attack as a bonus action.

Slow (Recharge 5-6). The golem targets one or more creatures it can see within 10 feet of it. Each target must make a DC 17 Wisdom saving throw against this magic.

I'd say sure, but quite a few monsters with Innate Spellcasting have Con saves high enough that I'm not sure you need to worry about it.

Having not memorised 5E (yet!) can you give an example of 'innate spellcasting'? I've got all the books so a page number would be fine.

Innate spellcasting is basically the 5e version of spell-like abilities. For example, an astral deva can innately cast detect evil and good at will, and commune and raise dead once each per day.

Read the MM info: It's spellcasting so unless there is a specific rule treat it exactly as you would PC spellcasting. The rules state that any special rules will be listed with the ability. SO components, concentration etc are all the same as for PCs. Unless stated otherwise in the stat block.

EDIT: For me, I would play it more psionics no components but yes to concentration. But that's not the rules IMO.

Yep. If the spell they are casting requires concentration then it does, if not, then no.
