How excited would you be about 4th edition putting up the core books with all erratta?

Pretty much topic. How much would you like to see the core 4e books with all errata released? By core books im talking about PHB 1,2,3 ; DMG 1,2; and Monster Manual 1,2,3.

I could live without all the errata'd handbooks. Not that it's bad, but there's just not enough broken in them to justify $40 of my money to get another book. A fixed MM1 and 2 would be fantastic though. I'd buy that in a heartbeat. Actually, some sort of Tome of Monsters with all the MM1-3+MV stuff in one fat libram of evil would be pretty cool too.

I am not sure I would buy it. I would rather see that they did class compendiums with all the 4th Edition material tied to that class in one volume with all errata. I have done it myself with the Wizard class, but it is tedious work, and I would rather be able to buy it directy from WotC. Heck, they could even update the damage level and Defense progression so that it becomes a tactical wizard option for 5th Edition. Following their vision to embrace all editions of D&D and not only up to 3.5 edition. See link for Wizard Compendium content list:

Well, about 2 years ago I'd have bought the core books with errata immediately without a second thought.

At this point in time, I've already spend considerable effort and time to solve 'the errata problem' for our campaign, so I'm somewhat less excited about the prospect.

I think he was just showing the table of contents to what he is doing, not putting up all the content he has decided to reorganize for himself.

I would cry a little if they really put up revised versions of the PHBs. At least they could, as Myrhdraak says, release the Class Compendium documents for all the other PHB classes that didn't get the treatment. One can dream...
The MMs would be nice too, but if you have MM3 and the two MVs it's not that bad. There are already plenty of monsters and if you really want to have a MM1 or MM2 monster you can take stats from the newer sources and reflavour them.

Either way: I'm all in for erratas!

I use Essentials when I run a 4E game.

I wouldn't mind seeing Monster Manuals 1 and 2 with updated math, however.

MM 1 and 2 updated (I know a whole bunch of 1 is already in the MM however) would be pretty nice (as all the adventure critters and etc - that would super!)

However, the massively-mamothian task of a "cleaned-up" 4e would send me through the roof - and quite probably through the next one after that!

Something along the lines of :
feat trim - only those who offer meaningful choices and serve a pertinent role
theme review - rebalance all the themes to each other
power trim - same as "feat trim"
magic item trim/overhaul - presume inherent bonuses, balance items against each other, create more of a "reality" to common vs. uncommon vs. rare (perhaps diablo-style : one major/two minor = common; one major + 1-3 minor = uncommon; 2 major + 2-4 minor = rare; as an of-the-top-of-my-head example)
terrain / traps - just have them in a logical grouping with a little "suggest use" bit of text
monster update - use the good math but! keep the "old" aspect of having major differences in attack power for artillery caught in melee and such kinds of things that were in the MM 1 and 2, but got lost in MM 3+. I like that foes can be "disabled" by "simple" player tactics sometimes.

... probably something else - but if "just*" that came out... I would by that so hard, I'd probably order 7 copies from pressing the button so hard.

Thinking about all this keeps bringing up how fast 4e was thrown away... And... now I'm sad.
