Awesome! I hope these help you out, and please let me know how they work if you get a chance. Always looking for feedback. This is an amazing thread! My campaign hit 20th level back in August and since then my group has been chewing through the anemic threats in the monster manual. I've been using some custom monsters, but mostly I've had to resort to unwieldy amounts of monsters in an encounter to threaten the party and force them to use resources. My group uses all the options - MCing, feats, UA material, artifact level items, and epic boons - so I think these monsters will be a suitable challenge for my group.
For example, my group killed the Orcus from OotA in 2 rounds (as in Orcus acted twice). A pretty epic conclusion to a personal quest of the party's vampire necromancer, but a disappointing fight from a mechanical perspective.
Personally I think both the Balor and the Pit Fiend need some help. I have a "Balor Lord" that fixed some of the Balor issues, but it is not supposed to be your standard balor. Similarily, many of the "Dukes-of-Hell" are just elevated Pit Fiends. Bel in particular. I will have him up fairly soon. However, I don't plan to updated CR20 and below monsters in this thread (with some exceptions). I have been thinking about making a companion thread for CR11-20 monsters that would include beefed up demons and devils.I don't really have experience with high level 5E, but the Pit Fiend looks like it will be stomped in no time. I'd love to see your take on it.
Make an exception? However, I don't plan to updated CR20 and below monsters in this thread (with some exceptions).
Yeah, I remember that from when you posted your "complete CR table" on page 19 (no I'm not rainman, I just looked it up today bc of the Pit Fiend ) Considering you might want to change the way you do the epic monsters (based on CapnZapp's feedback amongst others), this might actually be a good idea to sort of test the waters and work your way up through the CRs.I have been thinking about making a companion thread for CR11-20 monsters that would include beefed up demons and devils.

I will get the top two corrected after work today. The intent is that Belial can exclude allies, everyone within the aura would be affected except those Belial chooses not to affect. perhaps the language can be cleaned up a bit. Mechanics wise it is a trait, not an action. It doesn't cost Belial anything to use this traitThe entry for malicious woe says +14 (4d8) fire damage. Should be +18 (as it says under the attack).
Consort of Phlegethos costs 4 legendary actions. Belial only has 3.
Any creature Belial chooses are affected by his aura. Are creatures that Belial is not aware of then immune to the aura, then? Is it a free action to make this choice from round to round?
