D&D 5E ForgedAnvil D&D 5E Character Generator

Hi,

I'm new on the forum but have been using the 5e generator for a while now. I just downloaded the latest version (2,22) and imported a character that was made with the 2,0 Beta and noticed that not all data was being imported, not sure if this has been raised before? Anyway after importing the character I noticed a couple of fields hadn't come through on the import. Don't know if the character type has any affect on this but my character is a half-orc barbarian. For now I have noticed only two areas where this import didn't fully work: the field subclass -> primal path did not import & for the Attacks only the 1st attack/weapon was imported, all others (2 through 6) did not import.

What beta version were you using? There were some fairly significant internal changes between beta 1 and beta 10 (or so) and the import function will not fully work with them and the current releases. You will probably have to manually re-enter that data.

Hi Forged, love the new Adventurer's Log. One question though, how do we enter anything other than gold (silver, copper, platinum, etc) It looks like there is a variable to hold the total, but I don't see where it's entered?

Nice feedback, good to hear the log is proving more useful. The design intent is that the user enters all currency in Gold Pieces in the Adventurer's Log, so 1 PP = 10 GP, 1 SP = 0.1 GP etc. for any encounter or whenever gold is obtained, lost or spent (buying or selling an item etc.). Then on the start sheet the auto conversion takes place if the automation variables are used. AdventurersLogPP, AdventurersLogGP, AdventurersLogEP, AdventurersLogSP, AdventurersLogCP so you have all coins auto converted to the minimum number.

In addition, lets say EP doesn't exist is your campaign, you could enter in the start sheet SP value =AdventurersLogSP+5*AdventurersLogEP and clear the EP cell (left as blank). That should work ...

Ah, gotcha. That all works well. The problem, or at least my problem, is that my DM is strict on encumbrance. So if we find 100 silver pieces, he wants us to carry around 100 silver coins, not 1 platinum. Not sure how you would incorporate that though to make everyone happy. Maybe subdivide the gold column on the log to have each denomination and then have alternate variables for the auto calculated conversions vs straight?

Challenge is over time the exchange of currencies would make that more difficult. Going to the tavern, buying a pint and a room for the night then heading to the "magic" store to sell some gear and buy some new stuff - makes it harder to track this in the log in an easy way. You can always manually enter a formula in the start sheet coinage to do the calc, but understand the automation would be cool.

Perhaps a Currency Conversion spell should be designed... haha, draft below.
