D&D 5E Looking for Short Urban Adventures for Levels 1-3

No worries! I really wanted to like Trouble in Waterdeep. It would've been perfect. It's for levels 1-3 and it's set in Waterdeep (ostensibly). Unfortunately, it just didn't do it for me when I read through it.

Which leads me back to a more fundamental question: what are you looking for? A dungeon trip can work fine since you just need to move the entrance to be in your city, but it seems you want something that involves the city itself. But in what way? Politics? Merchant houses? Street brawls?

Did you look at the WGA series? Set in the City of Greyhawk, intended for low level (starting at 1st) characters. They involve an evil cult trying to return to power in the city, but they're urban and low level.

I think there was a thread recently on this very same topic at rpg dot net. You might be able to find some good advice there.

Paizo-era Dungeon has multiple urban adventures. Mad God's Key is a highlight. Urban Decay is adequate. Shackled City could be mined for a lot of great urban material.

You might also like Shadows of Eidolan for 13th Age.

I play only Adventurers League, so I'm not very familiar with what is there outside AL, but I enjoyed The Scroll Thief, Cloak and Shadows and Boltsmelter's Book. Cloack and Shadows is fully within Mulmaster, the other two have the last couple of encounters outside the city proper.

I wrote "Rats in the Undercellar" which is a low-level urban mystery set in Baldur's Gate. It appears in Dungeon 217 and wouldn't be hard to convert to 5e.

Good questions. I don't really know. I think I have a better idea of what I don't want than what I do want.

I have not. I will take a look. Thanks.

I have run B6 The Veiled Society using 5E. Easy conversion and easy to sprout outwards. I can unarchive all my Known World play by posts threads and you can read the entire game.
I'll take a look. Thanks!

Cool. Thank you.

I forgot about Mad God's Key! I enjoyed that one - the DM had run it and its lesser known sequel as the start of a 5e Age of Worms campaign. I'll have to go back and take another look at it.

I ran "The Scroll Thief" as a side adventure while my Tyranny of Dragons group was in Baldur's Gate. They really enjoyed that one. I do like "Cloak and Shadows", especially its alternate chase rules, but haven't run the actual adventure. It's more for 3rd level PCs, though, isn't it? I'm not that familiar with the last one.

I'll check that one out too. Thanks!
