The mechanics for Kenku are just aweful, even orc and kobold are stronger choices and they have ability penalties.

Aasimar on the other hand have solid mechanics.

That's right- every single one of us has either a) played through all of the races in the PHB, b) DM'd all of the races, c) wanted to play new races, or d) cursed against the strictures of the Gygax whilst demanding new races.

a) nope, I've only ever played a Human in 5E
b) nope, I've never DMed a Dragonborn, a Halfling, or a Half Elf in 5E
c) nope
d) wash your mouth out with soap! Never! Especially not new filthy humanoid races.....
