All the races from the PHB and the Elemental Evil supplement are in the builder. The feat selection seems to random from a table with no thought to the race/class being built.

Where are you seeing that? Trying to replicate my current character with Sentinel, I see this in the selection pane:

A couple of quirks. If I have the same skill prof from class, and background i couldn't re-pick. That was annoying.

I did like the Wizard for character creation. That is great for new players. picking Encumbrance options was very cool too.

It seems to me like the feat selection contains every option from the SRD and Elemental Evil Supplement. All 2 feats. Limited for sure, but it makes sense.

Welp, as much as I would wish to playtest it, I obviously can't until they put at least the PHB feats in. :)

Having read through their forums a bit (and laughing that on virtually each page of the monster thread they have to mention that not everything is there due to it being just the SRD stuff right now), I was heartened to discover that they will be adding information from the APs into the database. I'm really hoping the pricing for the information from the APs (pretty much the monsters and magic items) is fairly reasonable. Obviously since this going to be basically a toolset, most of the information from the actual "adventure" parts from the APs would seem to be unnecessary, so I'm hoping the pricing for what is brought into the application reflects that. I really, really would like to have a resource like this where I don't need to flip from book to book to find a particular monster or magic item, so getting all that information consolidated into a single resource at a reasonable price would be extremely helpful (not to mention desirable) for me...

AP = Adventure Path. Used to refer interchangably to the WotC big book adventures as well as the Paizo 6-part adventures, though strictly speaking it should only refer to the latter.

For my part, I'm pretty happy with what I'm seeing of the character creation process. There are some problems, and it's hard to replicate characters since so much is missing, but it makes a fine sheet at the end, with some pleasing ways of keeping track of stuff. I'm really interested to see how they'll develop the DM side of things; I'm hoping for a combat tracker that really improves life at the table.

I'm pleased to see that the webpage character sheet is laid out very much like I'm laying out the app I'm (very very slowly) making for myself. I might actually adjust one piece of my layout to look more like theirs.

. . . part of the reason it's going oh so slowly is that I only work on it occasionally - as a hobby - and because I get sidegracked into fiddling with little changes, or details. This weekend, for example I spent my coding time on replacing the Ability score display - something that already worked fine as it was - with a custom component, and I spent several hours tweaking the measuring and layout of it to get it looking exactly the way it did before. :uhoh: :erm:

I wonder if people realise yet that, once the extra features are added like the ability to build your own classes, feats, backgrounds and races, that if you put in the work, you could literally have a free account with all supplements in it. I mean, sure, that's a fair bit of grunt, but so far, I can't see any reason why you need to purchase any of their content.

This kinda worries me about their future...
