You could try writing to Wizards of the Coast to see if you can license your .pdf directly with them? I have no idea how much something like that would cost, but I suspect it would mean the end of the "Pay what you want" at DMsGuild, as you would probably have to have a solid price to offset the cost of the licensing.

Still. Good luck! I love this sheet and I don't want to see it go away :(

It's not gonna happen. They want to "force" us to go buy subscription in their new page. That's why they started a war at interactive CS

I can adjust skill, initiative as well as passive perception, but ability modifiers seem to be set in stone...
Ability Modifiers are calculated from the Ability Scores. Just change the ability scores to change the ability modifiers. The "Scores" button and "Ability Scores" bookmark opens a dialogue that helps you keep track of everything.

Note that there is no way, as per the D&D rules, to have something modify the ability modifiers without changing the ability scores themselves, so this is why the sheet has no support for that.

I can't pm yet apparently as I'm new but I'd love to try this character sheet for a new game I'm running to introduce my son to D&D. If it isn't too much trouble could you possibly pm me when you're free?

Hi, i can't find the sheet and i'll like to take a look at it to start a new character. Since the High Roller guys used it on their Dead Redemption first episode and it seems usefull, i've been searching for hours for it before finding this post :(

Not particularly accurate. WotC is doing nothing more than protecting their intellectual property. I suspect that MPMB, as OrcPub before him, finally drew enough attention to his sheet that they finally needed to crack down on him. It's an amazing product, and I still use it myself, including custom spells and a wizard subclass I had to fumble through the java code to include. That doesn't mean however, that they can allow something like this to freely give away there IP. Just as with numerous other character sheets and spell sheets, the proper, legal avenue is to include only SRD and freely-available Basic content, and allow the import of additional, protected content by the end user. A third party can continue to host the libraries needed (probably can't be MPMB's own Patreon page) so that everyone can continue to use it as desired. There is no other legal way to do it that I am aware of.

I'll also point out that D&D Beyond is NOT owned by WotC, so they are not forcing anyone to buy anything. Just like with Roll20 or Fantasy Grounds, and this new D&D Reader product that seems to be in the works, they are another company who has paid for the license to sell official content. Wizards is supporting them, as the others, as official outlets to purchase from, but that doesn't make them WotC owned or directed.

Thank you for creating the character sheet, it is fantastic.

I think I have discovered an error in the weight carried calculation in version v12-998 (I believe it was there before as well), where sometimes it is double counting equipment. I think I have it pinned down to the "All three of the above" option under the "Add Equipment" button at the bottom of the equipment page. The error seems to only occur if you use the "All three of the above" option to add armor or a weapon from the first page after previously using one of the auto-fill options from the menu.

To reproduce easily, create a blank character and choose a background (e.g. hermit). Go to the equipment page and click on the "Add Equipment" button then "Hermit's Items and Gold" (or whatever other background you chose). Go to the first page and add armor and/or a weapon attack. Then go to the equipment page and click on "Add Equipment" then "All three of the above". While it will add in the armor/weapons from the first page correctly, it will double the weight of the equipment that was already on the list (and double your gold).

The "All three of the above" seems to be key... it doesn't occur with the other options.

Thanks and let me know if I can provide any additional information.

There is an error in the description of the Elf Trance trait:

PHB 2014 edition states:

Trance. Elves don’t need to sleep. Instead, they
meditate deeply, remaining semiconscious, for 4
hours a day. (The Common word for such meditation
is “trance.”) While meditating, you can dream after a
fashion; such dreams are actually mental exercises that
have become reflexive through years o f practice. After
resting in this way, you gain the same benefit that a
human does from 8 hours of sleep.

However, the auto-text generation in the character sheet says:

Trance: Elves don't need to sleep, but meditate semiconsciously, for 4 hours a day. While meditating, I can dream after a fashion; such dreams are actually mental exercises that have become reflexive through years of practice. After resting in this way, I gain the same benefit that a human does from 8 hours of sleep, but I still need 8 hours for a long rest.
