Is it possible to make Gestalt characters with the generator?

thanks in advance
Kridak

As far as I understand it, Gestalt was only a feature of D&D 3.5e. It would basically be a Homebrew class for 5e, so I'm pretty sure the answer will be "no, and it will never be supported until it is made an official part of 5e".

The short answer is no. This CS is designed for 5th Edition material only.

The long answers is still no. Because, JediMastaDJ is correct, the Gestalt class would have to be a homebrew class and this CS does not support any homebrew classes. There are too many variables and unknowns to allow for custom classes. Only official WotC published D&D 5e material is in this CS. This simplifies the CS and doesn't over complicate it.

I'm just looking to see if there is a way to do it in excel

In excel? Sure, almost anything is possible*. In this characater generator? Not as it is presently designed, and probably not in the foreseeable future either.

* Within the limits of a spreadsheet, of course!

This character generator ONLY supports official Wizards of the Coast 5th Edition Dungeons and Dragons material. It does NOT support any 3rd party material (such as material from Kobold Press). It does not support material in play test (Unearthed Arcana material). It does not support homebrew material. It DOES have a limited custom area, and IF you can make your non-WotC material work then have at it, but there is no guarantee that it will work as any official class or spell works.

As I understand it, a gestalt character (in 3.5rd edition) is basically taking the best of two seperate classes and making a single non-multiclass character. While you may be able to approximate this with the current custom area, it would not be exact and there is no guarantee that it would work at all!

Forged posted the following on 1 January....

Version 2.28 BETA 1 Released!
Download here >> ForgedAnvil D&D 5E Character Generator

This is an interim release for those who would like to start testing some of the Xanathar's content

Currently the new Cleric, Fighter and Warlock Hexblade subclasses have been implemented, the Barbarian Storm Herald is wip and some feats have been implemented but also wip. Appreciate those who are keen to help out to review these and let me know of any issues or missing content - there are some areas like the Active Features that need review as well. Detailed feedback is appreciated.

Thanks to everyone who provides feedback to refine and improve this character generator, keep the bug fixes and awesome ideas coming

As always have fun!

Cheers
ForgedAnvil

With that being said, I was informed by Forge that some of the names for the new subclasses are in the v2.28 beta 1, but no other information has been entered. Only the above subclasses had any information added to the CS.

Has anything been loaded from Xanathar's or am I just blind?

See the above quote.

This is the name of the link on Forged's homepage.

ForgedAnvil D&D 5E Character Generator v2.28 Example Character - Zenith BETA1.zip

There is quite a bit of material that needs to be added. It will take quite a bit of time and testing before v2.28 is released. Additionally, bugs in v2.27 are still being discovered and fixed. Let us not forget that Forged has a life outside of the community.

Please be patient.
